I've played through MGS several times and I still don't understand why they tortured him. They didn't ask for any info on anything but the disk and Ocelot believed Snake knew nothing. So why did they torture Snake?

Because Ocelot LOVES to torture people. It's his speciality, and his sick hobby.

Guess they figured they'd punish him for trying to stop their plans. He did ask Snake a question, though. He wanted to know if there was any other REX data other than the copy he confiscated. Also, Ocelot inquired about the trick to using the key PAL key. He said "That weasel of a president said there's some trick to using the key". However, Snake didn't know. I think that answers your question.

Besides, Snake was an Intruder. You just gonna let an intruder get away with it?

Ocelot seemed to believe Snake about the card keys and he wasn't screwing up thier plan they were using him. Also if it was because he was an intruder then they would just keep him locked up they would have no reason to torture him.

That's true, Doctor. You're right about all those things. I should've remembered they were using him....but then again, he didn't know they were using him. I think he was tortured in order to find out about those card keys worked. Was Ocelot trying to find out what Washington was going to do next?

Ocelot really sounded like he believed Snake knew nothing about the card keys.He didn't ask about Washington I played to that point recently after making the topic.

Remember though. Ocelot loves to torture people. He gained his affinity for it way back in 1964. He might have just been doing it for fun.

Ocelot would still need a information to torture out of people.Remember"This isn't torture THIS is an interrogation"it's not much of an interrogation if you ask no questions and make people suffer even if you're satisfied with the information.

Ocelot was torturing Snake to put the choice of Merlys fate into snakes own strength.
If Snake was stroung enough, she would live, if he was too weak, she would die.
That is the main reason why he was torturing him.

Yes but that is a stupid reason to torture someone.
