i dont get it when you first rescue sokolov in the vertues mission and after he talks about his crap life story he says "by the way your russian is superb" but snake wasnt speaking russian.
i dont get it?

It's assumd that they are speaking in Russian for the most of the game. Remember, they are in Russia, Sokolov is a Rusiian scientist. It's a lot faster (and more identifiable with the viewer) to have it in english. Did you really want most of the game to be spoken in Russian with english subtitiles?

Yeah, the Russian accent Olga had was really nice, but they couldn't let Sokolov speak English with Russian accent because he didn't knew the language I guess.
Actually, Sokolov is talking in Russian, but because Big Boss is very good in Russian he can translate the words in his "brain" in English (That's why you hear everything in English). He understands what Sokolov has to say in Russian, Sokolov is impressed and says: "Your Russian is superb.". ;D

Do you really think all of these Russian soldiers, officers, and scientist are going to speak english because an American intruder is around? They probably were speaking Russian for the most part. |
