They could be snaps. Why would Snake or Raiden need armor? They aren't getting into heated battle with hundreds of enemies. Seriously you don't know that. |

But speculation is always good but there is a certian extent in which we can go with only these tiny bits of infomation. |

Gray Fox/Cyber Ninja's suit also incorporated the optical camoflage. It could be Snake & Co have access to that and that is why they have the more armored look. Not for physical defense, but for expanded capability.
I would still like to see Snake Eater's camo system in MGS4 though. :+)

how is running down a hall with snake killing those tengu people stealthy? how is driving through the woods at a kajillion miles an hour waisting guys in humvees and sh*t stealthy? How is shooting at a shirtless liquid as you race to the exit of shadow moses. How is shootng a bunch of special forces people within a time limit with a blonde chick next to you after you've burned big boss alive and fight and fight until your chopper arrives, stealthy? dude.....kojima ALWAYS strays away from the norm in his games by thte end

maybe snkae is slowly dieing from the virus or tha fact he is a clone so what ever parts of his body that arent as strong as they used to be he has the peices of the exoskeleton on.

of course theres gonna be action in the game. in sons of liberty after the raiden gets his stuff back he fights like 50 guys getting to the rays then has to fight the rays. there will always be alot of action.

Listen, when planning a stealth mission it is just plain stupid to equip him like he's going on some kind of balls-out shoot-everything-that-moves-with-a-giant-machine-gun mission. They're not going to equip him with armor that would encumber him, and make him louder. Why not just dress him up in a f...cking clown suit? The chases, tengus, etc. were all unanticipated. The missions were supposed to be purely stealth missions. All that armor would do is slow him down.

Whoever is equipping him is not going to outfit him with metal that will make noise whenever it hits the ground. It will undoubtably slow him down for two reasons:
1. Metal armor, no matter what it is made of, is heavy. It will slow him down.
2. Snake is damn near 50 years old, he's not exactly going to be agile.

i never said it was going to be metal. If anything, we'll get something simliar to raiden's skull suit. A type of nylon or whatever.
Snake's never been THAT agile to begin with with the exception of twin snakes. For the most part snake is pretty grounded. Besides, just look at sam fisher, he still does his moves and he's old as hell, he sounds old as hell. In the end, a gun is a gun no matter how fast you move.

Their armor was very heavy stuff. It would slow Snake down quite a bit. Plus he doesn't seem like the type to wear armor. He didn't even want a badass katana for God's sake.

i never implied it was heavy by those statements. i was implying it was light enough for them so it'd be light enough for snake. there's no real way to actually WEIGH the armor but i'm sure snake could wear it. Whether or not i'm wrong, the artwork is distinguishable and obviously special in some way. Just look at the arsenal tengu's, u really think that stuff was so heavy that snake wouldn't be able to wear it?

If you want to maintain a certain level of quiet, which you do in a stealth mission, that won't cut it. Only the skullsuits that they have worn in their previous missions will work. |

it's obcviously a skull suit-esque material , besides, i doubt they'd be wearing metal shoes for a stealth mission.
