A recreation of AG's topic on the Arsenal Column, I loved that section, I dont know why you guys let it die. ANYWAYS... to the point. PS3, PSP...and who the hell knows what other systems we'll see in the future. The series HAS been milked alot these past years, and it hasnt been for the better. With the arrival of the new means of playin I just mentioned, who knows how much the series will be milked? AC!ID is getting a sequel, the first one was enough in my opinion. How many more AC!D's are we gonna see? So far we've had 3 SOLIDS, lookin at a 4th one, so where's the PSP series headed? PS3. Ah we all love the great news of the PS3 finally being released in just months. How will this affect MGS? Snake Eater was announced as the last in the SOLID series, we all thought "Hideo's going out with a bang. He's givin us the best, now it's time to say good-bye." Now, dont get me wrong, I'm more than thrilled about MGS4, I've always wanted to know what happens after MGS2, but with the arrival of this new game, it only opens doors to...... more milking. Quite frankly, Hideo should've stopped at MGS3, period. Just leave it. Leave MGS as a great series, among the classics, and move onto new games. But no, he'll continue. And we still dont know IF MGS4 will indeed end it once and for all. As we;ve seen many times, Hideo just does more and more as long as he's got the technology (and his fellow workers to convince him) to keep going with the great tale of Snake. And if Snake dies, he obviously doesnt think twice about changin characters(Raiden). So, will the Gear still be Solid? Only time will tell what awaits, but hopefully, MGS4 finally ends it. And with the power of PS3, Hideo's got the best chance ever to really end it with a bing bang this time around. And I really hope he does. And now for me, to go to bed. ;D

As long as they keep the main series alone it's all fine with me, but if I look at the whole MG scene then I'm a bit disappointed.
(I don't want to mess with your special section AG, but bringing back the Arsenal Column isn't a bad idea.)

I really am getting tired of everyone saying that Konami is milking the Metal Gear series. MGS1-3 were all awesome. Metal Gear AC!D is an incredibly fun and innovative game, and I can't wait for MGA2. If Hideo is going to make another game, it's not milking. He's obviously not just doing it for the money, otherwise the games would be a piece of sh*t. You can always tell when the developers of the game enjoyed making the game, and wanted to make it. The Metal Gear games have all been like that. It would only be milking if they got someone besides Hideo to make the new MGS or ifthey put out an MGS movie. That would be milking, so far it seems they're only giving Hideo what he wants. Remember, he said MGS2 was going to be the end of the series as well. It's like when a smoker says "This is my last cigarette" and one week later you see them lighting up again. They thought they could stop, but they can't do without.
And as for AC!D, I don't like when people complain about it. They say they want new gameplay and characters, but when they get it they say they just wanted MGS again. They want it to be different, but exactly the same.

Hey man, Kojima said he's gonna keep making games until the very end. Besides, Acid is not really meant to be in the MG Line of creation, but it can make a whole new line on it's own. They can make board games out of this, and they can have really fun ways of making it! It's a cool game. If you want fast action you better look somewhere else because this game moves alittle slower paced than the reg. MG games. Still awesome.

In what interview did he say "I will keep milking these games until the very end"? Kojima likes making Metal Gear, he's not just doing it for money.

Hideo did say he will keep making games even if he's under trenches but not exactly MGS games.
He didnt have the story "outlined in his head." He even said it himself he wanted to stop at Snake Eater but his co-workers convinced him to keep going. He admitted that, and that to me is forcing the game. Sure, he ends up givin us a great story, but it's being forced. MGS1 only he was the writer. MGS2, he was not the only writer of the story. Another guy was working alongside him. MGS3, it was a total of 3 writers! As you can see, this is not coming all out of Hideo anymore. What's next? 4 writers on MGS4? That's why I mean by the game being forced. He's just not puttin enouth originality anymore, which makes the series look like it's being milked.

When did I say he was milking the series? I said clearly on my first post that him contuniuing opens the doors to other games that milk it. Hence AC!D, and now AC!D 2. What's next, MG Oxygen?

AC!D is a very good game. If you have played it the whole way through you would see that. It doesn't really count as milking if the game is actually good. It would be milking if AC!D was a piece of crap.

Mr. Kojima is definitely going to stop after MGS4, whatever the rumors are that this only heats up for more sequels. He said it himself, after MGS4 he's going to focus on a brand new series or make a Z.O.E 3. But, that only means the "Solid" series, so I'm 80% sure games like Metal Gear Ac!d 3, Eye Toy: Metal Gear, or whatever won't be made...
