OK. And again, thanks a lot for those screenshots! You know, the first time I saw the scene I was really shocked to find out he was such a close friend with Hal's grandfather. They shared a lot of thoughts about new weapons. Hideo Kojima really thinks things out. It's definitely one of my favorite scenes in the Metal Gear Solid series. Did you know... When you call Sigint after the meeting with Granin, he'll tell you some guy called Heinrich or Emerson in the States wrote a paper about walking battle tanks. He thinks he's just wacko.

I still don't like the REX blueprints being in there. It contradicts MG and MGS.

Why? Ocelot was the one who got the blueprints from Granin anyways. TX-55 and D are made by Pettrovich, and for all we know, Ocelot haven't had any kind of relation to him.

True enough. Perhaps after TX-55 and D were destroyed, Ocelot decided to release the blueprints for REX on his own.

Then how the hell did Otacon come up with an EXACTLY the same looking tank that Granin did? Huh? C'mon.
The story would've made far more sense if it was a TX-55 blueprint. Big Boss saw the prints and was told by Granin what the weapon is. Ocelot took the plans and gave the to the CIA. Later, Big Boss obtained them as a high level military official. And boom, Outer Heaven. The REX plans would work IF in MGS Otacon did not say that he was inpiried by Anime to make REX. Not some 40-year old mystery blueprint.

It seems you do, because it really doesn't make sense that Otacon would accidentally design the exact same machine on his own.

I really hope that wasn't directed at me, TBOL.
And no, not "enough said". Petrovich may or may not have actually inveted the machine. We know he built it, but not necesserily invented it. After MGS3, it is clear that the concept of a walking tank has been around since the 60's. So the TX-55 plans would've been far more appropriate then ones for REX. Besides, Ocelot had the plans, not Otacon's father. And even if he did, it would've been said so in MGS1.

It was ArmsTech who invented it. Otacan was the cheif engineer. And Arsenal, grow up, and drop the Jesus-complex already.

You're telling him to grow up? You're the one who has gone into a pissing contest and deleted yourself TWICE now.
