Crazy stuff
New Metal Gear On PSP
Not a port, a remake or even a card game.
by Patrick Klepek, 12/21/2005
Just as Metal Gear Ac!d 2 arrives in Japan and 1UP concludes its week-long Metal Gear expose, series creator Hideo Kojima's revealed to Famitsu the existence of Metal Gear B.D., an all-new adventure for PSP under the direction of Ac!d 2 co-director Shinta Nojiri that's not a remake or port of any previous Snake adventure, says Next Generation.
"It's totally new," says Kojima. "Even though it's only on PSP, it's going to be pretty amazing." People didn't expect a Metal Gear card game, though, and Kojima's already rambling strangely about what we should expect from the game. He says "it's just a normal game. Only with one little thing radically different about it."
From the sound of his comments, though, Kojima's playing with his fans; the first details on the PSP project came about in the designer's own blog, where he said "The gameplay system will diverge from existing gameplay trends. That's really the selling point. We'll test whether or not people will accept it."
Even in the Famitsu article, Kojima goes on about how it might alienate some gamers. "It might be too new for people. I don't even know if they're going to sell this thing. I mean, I find it interesting myself, though who knows what people will think of it."
Who knows what the man has up his sleeve, but Kojima's always full of surprises, and he certainly knows how to treat his fans.
what could it be about? Proboly a flashback type thing with greyfox or something?
