OK... so let me see if I can get this sraight... from 2004 to 2006 we got:

Acid: A card game.
Acid 2: A more colorful card game.
B.D.: A digital comic.
Mystery Solid title: Who the hell knows at this point!

What the HELL is going on here! I mean really, how can anyone possibly be ok with this? Guys, this is not what Metal Gear was. And are you all honestly ok with this much junk being flushed into the series? Metal Gear had a unique concept that was developed and refined from game to game. Now they branch off in every possible direction like a drunk man driving a truck!

I'm not a hard-core gamer who loves to try all kinds of games. I like what I already like. And now they are messing with it. I wouldn't probably care that much if it wasn't done so fast. Forget years, these things are poped out in months now!!! Look at the new Solid title, already due out this Spring in Japan.

And hell, but the time you catch up with all the PSP crap and get all of Subsistence out of the way, MGS4 will be on your doorstep. Waaaaaaay too fast!

I really don't like the direction in which the series is heading. A Metal Gear title isn't an artwork anymore, but a common triviality that's being shoved in everyone's faces. I, for one, don't get how anyone can be looking forward to any of these PSP "experiments". And failed expriments at that. They're not switching to a "Solid" title because the new stuff is flying off the shelfs.

Maybe, just maybe, the MG series is heading down the path that the Star Wars series took. Star Wars had awesome games at first, but then it got milked and was used for chess and Monopoly and much more. They relied more on the Star Wars name, and not the Star Wars experience. Then they realised their mistake and fixed it. Though Star Wars came out with many games AT ONCE. This is only a mere 4 games, one being a comic, 2 being card games, and another one, who knows. What I'm saying is, it's too early to tell for the MGS series.

I'm not complaining so far.

I have no problems with the side games as long as it doesn't effect the main series, but it does look a bit strange if you realize it's based from Metal Gear.

The only thing I'm worried about this new Metal Gear Solid title. This gets out of hand. Kojima gave us his word he would QUIT/STOP/SEIZE after Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. And now out of the blue he states he wants to make a Metal Gear Solid title. If I'm correct, he's not even finished with Metal Gears Solid 4...

I dont really care how many games they make. As long as they stay away from the main storyline. It's not like Im gonna buy all of them anyways. I dont really care if they make the MG morale go down. It's not like I listen to what other people say about games, as long as I like the game and the series, go ahead! All I need to know is that the main Solid games are kickass and Hideo can go or give someone else the green light to make any MG games they want. Im not gonna follow it anyways. If they main story does in fact stop at MGS4, that's it for me. I might check out some of these sides games one day, but thats about it. Hideo is just doing what seems rationall MGS sells. And MGS equals lots of big bucks.

I doubt that the new Solid title will be an actual installment in the series. What they may do, is make it a game that fits in between the core games. Say something on Snake's Philanthropy work.

My thoughts exactly...

A game between MGS1 and MGS2, which includes the story of Philantrophy and Meryl. And of course Snake's fight against all the Metal Gears that appeared all over the world. (that was what Philantrophy was created for after all)

What about Metal Gear Solid: Rogue Hunt?

I have no complaints thus far. AC!D was a welcome change of pace with some familiar characters, and Hideo is actually going to be working on BD and the mystery Solid title, so as far as we know, they'll be great. If you don't like AC!D, chances are you won't like AC!D 2. But don't let one game spoil anything new for you.
