About two weeks ago, I started a tour of the Metal Gear series with my girlfriend (soon to be wife). She has seen bits and pieces before, but not the whole thing. So, we started with Metal Gear Solid, the game I started with. I play, she watches, we both enjoy. And... a new Metal Gear fan is in the making. Thus far, we have finished MGS and MGS2, with MGS3 scheduled next. About an hour or so a day.
I gotta say, I love showing the series to newbies. That realization they get... the one that it's more that just a "game". It's great! Her favorite characters are Otacon, Emma, and Naomi. Snake is a given, naturally. Even Raiden started to grown on her, even though he starts out as a wimp. I wonder who she will like in MGS3?
In any case, even though she was left scratching her head with the ending of MGS2, she does seem to have an interest in the series.
