Yep. There was an ad on Amiga version of Metal Gear and the ad is still available. It is a Famicom-port-to-a-computer type. It is like the IBM pc and commodore 64 one. Some people say that it was never released. While others say it was released and some even reference to it while talking about other Amiga games. This site: hol.abime.net/4455 they say it was published. Anyway, take a look at this as well: provide link later

Just because there's some site that said it came out, doesn't mean it did.

Yeah, deceit is highly used. But this is still a mystery.

Why do you care about that? I mean, the NES Metal Gear (and its ports) and Snake's Revenge are the bastard children of the Metal Gear series. Who cares what ports of those 2 games were made? Same crap, different system, big deal... Regardless of what other systems Metal Gear 1 appeared on, the only one that matters is the MSX2. When the creator of the series actually says that the NES game was garbage, that kinda makes me loose interest in ANY ports it may have had.

I agree.

I get the interest in knowing ALL the ports, but I would think that the "unofficial" ones can be let go...
Metal Gear (NES), Snake's Revenge, and Twin Snakes are all failed experiments. They all exist to somehow "replace" or "improve" the original works. And on all three counts it failed. To me, games like that don't mean much, regardless of how many systems they were on.

Well, I am different from you Arsenal Gear, no offense. I really look into ALL ports even bastards.

I gathered that much, the question is why? What's the point? I can see if one was an improvement over the other, but from what I've seen the NES/Famicom port got worse and worse with each port.

Well, I am one of those hardcore gamer out there. It's like a craze, but I'm not crazy, and I like taking a look at these things, especially the rare ones. No, I am not a nerd. Anyway, Arsenal Gear, have you ever played the IBM PC/DOS version of Metal Gear? If you did, you must admit that the "scenes" added were really an improvement. The DOS version of metal gear has an extended insertion method at the start; scenery when getting out of an elevator; new way of controlling the elevator; you get like some sort of one-picture (not sure how to describe it) scenes for every major part of the game, like when you get captured. That has to be good for a big game for an old computer. Not even MSX had that. Since this is the case, it's always good to see if any other ports have something like this, too.

Where are you hearing all of this stuff about Metal Gear games?
They are all pointless non-sense, but still where do you get that from?

well, Genaside II, the info on the DOS Metal Gear about the scenes, I have the DOS version. As for the Amiga one and others, Genaside II, I suggest researching it. It works. Don't make fun of me just because I researched it. I'm curious and like the info I find. You gotta understand.

I'm not making fun of you. I asked WHERE did you get that info from? You've been posting all of these questions about stuff you "heard". Where?

I didn't say anyone made fun of me. I said dont make fun of me since I mentioned the research part. Anyway, there are many places you can look: wikipedia, amiga online forum, other encylopedias, HOL database, other game forums and plenty. Check there. Plus when I say I heard, I mean I read it at sites.
