Hi! I got metal gear solid for pc recently, but i have a problem. When i play it, threre is no music during gameplay or at the title screen. Next, when I use codec, the people don't talk, instead, the whole text appears without talking. Does anyone know how to fix this?
btw, i use windows xp, but speed is excellent.

Make sure your speakers are connected right.

Actually, my sound cards are well and speakers are well-attached. Only music and codec sounds (talking etc.) are not working. Sound during gameplay does work. And the videos work just fine with sound and music. Only in-gameplay music and codec talk is silent.

Can you f...ck of with the pointless windows bashing seriously. Every topic keeps getting off topic for completely stupid reasons.
Anyway maybe there is a update for the game that you haven't installed.

Can you f...ck off with the windows fellating? No need to be so f...cking defensive, most games that were designed for windows 98 (AKA this one) don't work on Windows XP. Hence, Windows XP could very well be the problem, and my comment was on topic.
Once again: I win.

The bottom line is this, Metal Gear Solid on PC sucks, plain and simple. There are many flaws in that game, including a problem with saving the game at the end. I've heard a variety of problems about this title, from different versions of Windows users. It is a 2000 port, and not a good one at that. My suggestion, leave it alone.

Well dumpster since your so great. Instead of saying the problem was XP you could of explained to mgman that the game was designed for windows 98 and has compatability issues with windows XP like you just said.

Wow. What we need to do, is chill out. Don't jump to conclusions, and the mods have powers to do horrible things to you G2. Just relax, DK has a point, but that doesn't mean XP and Windows is bad. I'm getting an Apple once OS 10.5 comes out.
