I finally ran through Snake Eater in Subsistence. I must say, playing the whole game with the new camera is great, it is the true MGS3. The original feels strange now. The only problem that I noticed was in the final fight with The Boss. The 3D camera does NOT work well in that area and makes things hard to see.
I captured the T-something snake to and got my Infinity Facepaint and would like to confirm that it is VERY possible to go run through the game in under 5 hours. I beat the game in 4.5 hours with no Alerts and no Kills. Got the Stealth Cammo for that.
The game is actually not that bad as long as you keep up your supply of Suppressors for the MK. Also, make sure to get The Ends tranq rifle, comes in very handy.
I should note that NOT KILLING means NOT KILLING. You can not kill or cause death of any human in the game. That includes the bike chase. Tranqing them and causing them to crash means death. And Volgin on top of the Shagohod? Yes, you have to use the Tranq. That's where The End's rifle is most useful.
All and all, it's great to run though the game a couple of times again.
Have you guys gotten the Steath and Infinity items? And what have you to say about the 3D camera?

I have acquired the Stealth generator, and am trying to get the infinty face paint. I forget what my best record for the game was, but It was 0 kills 0 alerts all little bit below 5 hours 1 LIFEMED used.
Right now I'm working on getting through Extreme Mode. I'm at Groznyje Grad right after The Fury, with 47 kills under my belt and 3 alerts. I must say those are good numbers for my first time trying Extreme on Snake Eater.

There are no official gameshark codes for Subsistence.
If you want Stealth.... No Alerts, No kills. That's all you got to do. It's really not as hard. Run through the game a couple of times to see which areas are problematic for you. Make sure to save once you enter them in case you get spotted.

See, to me shooting the frogs is annoying. Granted it is A LOT easier to find them with the new 3D camera, but still. I thought that running through the game with no alerts and no kills is much easier.
As for no kills/no alerts, just save once you enter an area that you know may be a problem. For example, I saved at the waterfall and didn't save again until leading eva through the jungle in the escape. It's all doable.

The new camera is great, but I have to say I still perfer the original. It makes the game harder and makes you heavily rely on first-person view a lot. I think the main complaint of the original camera is that it isn't accompanied by radar as the other games are. Because SE doesn't have it, one has to be much more careful and aware of the surroundings.
The greatest asset to the new camera I feel is that you can now look at the immense graphical detail of the game that couldn't be seen before. To this day, SE is still one of the best looking PS2 games ever. One has to point out, however, that snake's mouth does no move whenever he grunts. I am not so sure he did in SOL, but at least from the original camera angle you wouldn't be able to tell. A minor quip is all.
I would have to agree with IGN and most other gaming sites' account of the camera adding an almost completely new game to SE. If the original bores you, switch to the new one and vice versa.
As for the argument Arsenal Gear makes about Extreme difficulty, I would somewhat agree. Hideo designed SE not only exclusively for the original camera, but also the normal difficulty. The extra deviation was created by his team in order to create variety. However, I love hard games. If a game doesn't demand everything of me, I don't enjoy playing it. But again, I see Arsenal's point in trying to have fun and the difficulty being a bother.
As of right now, I am currently trying to collect everything in the extreme difficulty - even the EZ Gun. I have all the camos, but I am right now trying to conduct a foxhound run in order to get both IFP and Stealth at the same time. Again, this game is two years old and I am still enjoying the hell out of it.

Hey guys, I got some questions:
1) Is there any site or anyone that has the intro music of Persistence onto the PC?
2) The same thing for the top, but this time, for the music that occurs when you pick up the microfilm in online mode (the music is online mode original).
Thank

Not sure. It may be easier to just record it yourself.

You don't have a microphone? Those aren't exactly pricy. Go to Best Buy or any electronics store for that matter and pick one up. I'm sure that an average video game costs more than an average PC microphone.

I have trouble at one spot, escaping Groznyj Grad. If you get your Cigarrette Spray back from Johnny it makes it alot easier. I have a strategy every time I playing Groznyj Grad without weapons or camo. First I just study their routes outside the torture room and spray em or sneak past them. I don't go south back to the Southwest section, I go West to the Northeast section, easily sneak further west to Northwest, then just ignore the dog barking at me and proceed to the tunnel.

I think that the smoke sigs are only useful in 1 spot during the escape.
Now I don't remember off hand the South/West/North locations, so I'll do my best.
As you exit the bulding where you were inprisoned, head south, past the truck. It's the side of the building that has the ladder leading to the roof. You can pick up a cardboard box if you wish, it's between the building and the east wall. There is a guard there, but it's an easy grab. In the south part of the area, there is a whole in the wall. Climb through. It get's you to the very first part of fortress (the one you enter after fighting the Fury). Head along the north wall, there are no guards. Get to the part where all the tanks are at (and the entrance to the sewers). Go between the tank rows to avoid guards and search light. There is one guard in your way. Either wait for him to pass or use cigs from behind. Then you can just tip toe past the dog and into the sewers.
