I don't f...cking belive it!!!! Still nothing! f...ck, I'm shutting the damn board down!  This place SUCKS!!!!! Everyone jumps on board to bitch when the place isn't clicking, and yet look!!! f...cking DAYS of nothing. No news discussions. Nothing! I'm sure f...cking glad I'm working my ass off to update the look and content of the site! I can see just how much that's wanted. f...ck, nobody can even proof read the damn content. Look at forum like TUS has. Thousands of posts on MGS and Integral alone! Now that's a community!!! Not this waste! "Oh, things are slow sometimes..." BAH! Only here! f...ck this place! Maybe it's time for a new owner to run this dump! The hell with this crap! Work my ass off for f...cking nothing!!!! I wonder how many f...cking days will go by before ANY of the MGF members will actually notice this... |

My end of year exams have started and i like to think my future is more important than an internet based fan forum.
Besides that i also have work, and i do want to go out and get wasted on the weekend.

What can I say, the summer over for most of us, work kicks back in, school starts again, etc. etc.
Don't take it personal, but I think you're a little bit over-reacting. You don't sound like the AG I used to know.

Maybe I'm not. Look, you were always on the MGF side to the core, and I respect that. But in the end, it takes more than a couple of guys to make a community.
Hell, it was dead during the summer!
The series has been around for 20 years and there is nothing to talk about? C'mon! Look at TUS! Thousands of discussions on just about every game in the series.
Yeah, I get that everyone's got a life, hell I talked about how busy I've been. And yet I still try to add content and update the MGF layouts. But I can't do anything about a community. And I'm tired of this place being dead. For 2 years we've discussed how "sometimes things are slow". Well look at this place now! It's a joke, not a community!
There are site updates happening. There's Metal Gear news. And yet we have "nothing" to talk about. Days go by without any posts. sh*t, look at the existing topics, barely 2 to 3 replies each. Look at the VR Dome! I'm sure all the MG secrets are covered there now, right? Yeah....
There is NOTHING more I can do for this board. NOTHING. The bottom line is that nobody cares about this board anymore. There's a handful of people that even post here nowdays, and most don't even do it on regular basis.
I'm just tired of pretending... Tired of the "Mediocre Game Fansite".

Dont expect much when you dont advertise your site and dont have any affiliates.
I dont see the reason why you're overreacting over this, I dont see you making many discussion topics. You post about updates to the site, but we cant really discuss that. Updates are good, but we cant discuss about MGS on them. Sites go through this, you arent the first and only one whose site has been slow on discussion. It's not the end of the world. Unless you're paying too much for it, and dont want to keep paying that much for a dead site, then go ahead and shut it down. I wouldnt want to keep spending money and time on a dead site too, but I also wouldnt stand around not recruiting more members. And if you had but that still hasnt worked, then too bad.
A site like this wouldnt survive in today's net. People nowadays are more attracted to sites that have media: videos, music, images, etc etc. Your site provides just info, info that people can easily get off of Wikipedia. MGF just doesnt stand a chance against other sites that provide what the people ask for.

Exactly what Liquiduz said. TUS goes into other stuff concerning MGS, advertising through their clan on MGO, and putting a little more stuff on their website. EDIT: LOL  EDIT EDIT: Ahhhh because of the word filter I can't post the image. Oh well. AG did some nice graffiti to MGFs entrance. |

And what the hell does that have to do with a dead forum? Don't try to blame the site for any of this. MGF gets a steady number of daily visitors. There's no problems with that. Nor do I have a problem with lack of new people comming in onto the boards.
All your critisism has to do with my site, and yet that's doing a hell of a lot better than the forum, which is what I have a problem with. A community is something that forum members make or break. Don't stand there and tell me that there's nothing to talk about in MG world when other boards are busy discussing old and new games. And advertising on MGO? I don't play MGO. And those of you that do... hell, why don't you mention something if you're itching for new bloods. As for the existing 50 members, you're trying to tell me that it wouldn't be enough to have a busy discussion board? Please! The bottom line is that forum "deadness" doesn't lie in the fault of the site, but the community itself. You guys run this forum. You guys make or break this place. The site is a separate issue, one that I take care of myself. This place, it's for you! It's always been for you! And if it's not working it's YOUR fault. God knows I've tried everything, all kinds of theme sections, most of which failed. And yet no ideas are comming forward. You make a bid deal about MGO... Jackyl asked for an MGO section. DONE!
