This is what it will really come down to.
The graphics on both PS3 and XBox360 will be close to the same except for a few minor differences (this always depends on the developers and what not). XBox is mainly going for Online customers while the PS3 is going for mainly single players. Dont get me wrong, they are both focusing of Single and Multi, just more so than the other for each dif system.
What it will come down to is game selection. The majority of games will be on both systems, its the exclusive titles that will make up the minds of the consumer. So Fable = Final Fantasy, SW KotoR = ?, Forza = Gran Turismo, Halo = Killzone.
Its all about preference. If you look at the majority of games right now, PS2 takes the cake. The PS3 has more developers backing them up aswell, and the majority of games i have are XBox, but again thats just because the ones on PS2 annoy me cause of the load times, memory cards, and graphics. So, the PS3 has my vote for conquering the system wars of 05/06. Time will only tell though.
So lets recap....game selection will no doubt be the number one factor in decision making for which console to get. (Ill end up getting all three again, PS3, XBox360, and of course the Nintendo Revolution).
