I'm thinking about modding my PS2, and my dad wants his Xbox modded. I'm gonna get a kit that just slides into the memory card slot for my PS2, and a solderless kit for the Xbox, but first I want to know if it's worth it, and if it's very hard to install yourself, or if I should hire someone to do it.

When I did it to mine, I screwed up and jammed the door, so it may be a good thing to have someone do it for you.

When i did mine i f...cked up badly when i was soildering one of the last wires to the chipset, my arm slipped and the soilder smudged over 4 pins which permenantly f...cked my ps2 up. So i bought a secondhand PS2 from a pawn shop and i now use that with swap magic.
Its best if you can get a professional to mod it because they have a guarentee so that if they f...ck it up they pay for a new one.

I'm just using the swap magic for my PS2, and I'll get a guy to install the modchip for my dad's Xbox. Last thing I need it him sitting around with nothing to do because I f...cked up.

I got mine modded by some professional. I've heard swap magic is sh*tty as it doesnt work with most of the games.

Don't know how it can not work with most games. Modchips just bypass a few checks made when the console is starting up, which allows the person to play a backup or imported game.

Always let the pro's do it, both my PS2 and XboX were modded by professionals.

Hehe, you know of a shop in SLC that will mod my console for me then? Not that I'm saying it in a bad way, just wanted to know what SLC stands for. Have you already found a good mod place?

Not yet. Salt Lake City is lame as hell. The olympics were here three years ago, and I still see douche bags wearing their stupid olympic coats and trading their dumbass olympic pins. It's disgusting.

That's kinda... sad! But there has to be at least somebody there who is a mod geek who can help you. Keep looking.
