Why is Sephiroth harder than the final boss? Can someone tell me why he can completley destroy Sora in about 7 sword strokes?

Alternate bosses in Square games are always harder then main bosses. Take Ruby and Emerald weapon for instance. Beating an alternate boss is for bragging rights.

I just finished KHII. I felt like my soul kinda died. I loved the first Kingdom Hearts. Took me forever to beat, and I enjoyed it. I waited for 4 years for the sequel and got a big change. Pretty much straightforward levels unlike the first game, (Agrabah is 15 minutes of gameplay) and an ending that personally, I thought was gonna be a little longer. KHIII is rumored to be in the mix (Google it, if you haven't googled about everything you need to search for yet. [being sarchastic since everyone uses google now and don't want to explain the reason in a really long post])........

Wow, so even people who liked KH were disappointed with the sequel. What is it with highly anticipated games turning out to be substandard? I'm looking at you The Godfather, Fable, and Dungeons & Dragons Online.
