Fav game franchise

Title says it all, what's your fav series/franchise? (aside from MG of course 'cause we all love that franchise or else we wouldnt be in this site . AG, if you really really really REALLY cant think of another franchise you love aside from MG, then dont post. lol jk just post what you want ><)

Most of us are old enough that we grew up playing 8-bit and 16-bit greatness and witnessed our fav series evolved along with technology. Some for the better, some for the worse. So which franchise was the one that you've followed every step of the way and has become your favorite of them all?

I'm not much of a gamer so I'll just tell you what I've like over the years.

1. Bloody Roar series. The ONLY reason I got a PlayStation. Fighting as lion or a tiger... it was great. The series actually sucks and I only truly like the first game.

2. X-men vs Street Fighter. Including the other crossovers such as Marvel vs Capcom. Big fan of X-men and big fan of Street Fighter.

3. WWE SmackDown series. I've had several games from this franchise. A couple I've played very extensively over the years. Being a fan of old school WWF, I really like creating classic guys like Hogan or Ander the Giant.

That's about it for actual series. Only like the first Halo... and I would've love to play more Lupin games, but U.S. only had one release.

Nothing really comes close to Metal Gear though...

Damn, they're too many to count... I guess the main ones would be Castlevania, Metroid, Splinter Cell (I love stealth, ), Ace Combat, Resident Evil, Gradius, R-Type, Street Fighter, "Mario", "Sonic", Flashback, The Chzo Mythos, Myst, Duke Nukem...

I'm a huge Sonic fan, despite the recent failures. I also own every Resident Evil game and book in the series, same as Metal Gear. Devil May Cry is awesome.

I'm a huge fan of the Metroid series, although I have never had the opportunity to play any of the Prime series for any longer than a few hours. Castlevania is a big one with me as well. I also love the strategy games like Romance of the Three Kingdoms. I have RE2, 3 and 4 as well and occasionally delve into those. Oh, my fav. RPG series is Suikoden.

Jak and Daxter games, Ratchet and Clank series are some of the recent ones. Metroid series, even though I've played more of the Metroid Prime games than anything else. From the few moments I've played Castlevania: Dracula X Chronicles on the PSP I can tell that it's a cool franchise too.

Myst,

I remember trying to play Myst when I was seven and failing miserably.

Still an amazing series.

There is Silent Hill, Resident Evil, and a possible little known game called Startropics.

Contra series. These games are not for unmanly pussies.

As well, I'm pretty hooked onto WWE SVR: 2006. 2007 really turned people down and grinded their gears. 2008 is not even worth the mention considering it doesn't even have online capabilities. The first SVR (I guess people can call it SVR 2005) is pretty good, I'll say.
