If they really wanted the site up, they would pool their own money. This is the 2nd time their begging, and they will get it too. metalgearsolid.org/

That is fricking pathetic. They must not be old enough to have jobs or something. I mean, who can't raise $300? Between several people, even.

Such a pointless request too. It's a fansite. And a fasite that never really had all that much in terms of info. Geez... you'de think these kids could find a new forum to play it.

Here I thought no one was going to donate. Their half way to 300. That place is the most pathetic site I think I ever came across. They need pledge money to keep it up. Next they will have live webcasts with Nitriods big deformed babyhead in a tux asking for money.

I thought you were affiliated with TUS? I swear I remember seeing a link to them on your site.

It was, but I hadnt had time to update my site really. So I took them off. I only affiliated for page views, that was all. They are too arrogant for just news and forum site.
The original admin Pavel was actually a nice guy, I guess since he wasnt ever there, but did run it. He left apparently and I think Nitriod runs things. And on that note, did you see that pic from E3 like 2 years ago with him and Kojima? His head, gawd, he looks like something out of The Hills have Eyes.
I dont want to have any parts of a sell out site. And Im glad this place hasnt changed in all the years that Ive visited.

Honestly, I never really cared for TUS, and there are several reasons.
1. I knew Nitroid back on the old MGN boards. The dude was a retarded monkey then and not much has changed in 9 years. He is the type of guy that will live with his parents until they die, and probably for a few weeks after.
2. Their concept of the site. It’s a fansite. They treat it as something more than that. If it’s not official web, it’s a fansite. Don’t make it out anymore than that.
Now, I will say that I highly approve of what they accomplished in regards to soundtracks, game clips, and gallaries. Had I had the space to work with, I would certainly push media content. And who knows, maybe some time down the road I still may. That’s why I always encouraged people on my board that were eager to do an MG fansite to not go the information route. This isn’t the late 90’s. The MG info and secrets is all over the web as it is, but the media source is a different story. It would be great if MGF had an MG media partner for a website.
Anyway, that’s what I think about it.

They are the number one fansite, and they abuse it. If they truly were bent on being the number one, they would pool their own money instead of taking the easy way out. And the fact the fans donate to it, shows they dont have alot of things working upstairs. Its a fansite, let it go. I bet some of their fans think MG is real... I havent talked to Nitriod other then reading slander he brings here. One of their writers is Chris Winters, former admin of dead Metal Gear Source, a true dick.

Chris Winters... Hm... there’s a name I haven’t heard in a long time. He was the one that emailed me way about affiliating with their site. It’s funny, most of the people involved with TUS came over from MGN. MGN hated me and my site. So, they start out and offer me to affiliate. I turned it down, mind you it was done politely. Suddenly they had a massive problem with it and the whole thing got drawn out into an email war. “How DARE I turn them down”. LOL!
As for them being the number one fansite... that’s open to debate. TUS always has been a lousy source of info for Metal Gear. All they do is mention the news from OTHER game sites. As I said earlier, I praise their work with the media sections, that was indeed a welcome treat. And it was well done. But as for the rest... they had and have a lousy a layout, mediocre information, and far too many technical problems.
A fansite is a tribute to something that you care about. I never got that sense from TUS.

All they do is get information for Famitsu or Junker. And their forum is got to be the worst, do I even need to mention Error's a-hole ways? But... That place isnt AS bad as GameFAQS. All they do is worship members who make a thread about sh*t you already know.
And tribute yes, I havent had time lately, but Ive devoted hundreds of hours into my site. MGF was one of the inspirations, aswell as the Snake Hole. Which was also a site I submitted many suggestions for information which was used. Then decided to do my own.
But for the sites nowadays, I always respected MGF, never overstepped its bounds to become bigger then what it was and became lost in fog like TUS.

Mother of God! The Snake Hole! There another name from the distant past. One of the sites I used to affilate with back in the day.

I bet spies will come here to defend their Bum with a cup routine. Heyo! Really now, are you guys so bored that you have to whine about what another Metal Gear fansite does? First it was MGN and now TUS (whichever is the bigger target at the time, it seems). If you don't like a site, there's a simple solution; stop going there!inb4 practice what you preach, etc.You all take this stuff way too seriously. TUS at the very least gives all Metal Gear fans, not just the narcissistic ones (nudge, nudge) a place to hang out. My advice to you (not that you're going to listen, but "ahh, what the hell") is to stop caring so much about what TUS does and do something more productive with your time instead.

Whine? Who's whining? Laughing is more like it. And besides, isn't that what forums are for? Discussing meaningless sh*t? Hell, last week I talked about Wisdom teeth... LOL This topic isn't likely to be very long, unless you keep it going that is. LOL... it's forum! Geez! I'm sure there's a real shortage of message boards out there, especially about MG. Thank GOD the guys at TUS finally gave you lonelyhearts a place to bond. So f...cking sweet I need another dentist visit! LOL what a joke! And narcissistic? How so? Just because we don't cream our pants over every piece of crap Konami attaches the MG name to doesn't mean we're any less of a fan. You know... you're right! I'll should go slap a PayPal logo on my front page and try to cash in! Maybe I'll have my visitors pay for my E3 ticket! LOL! Guess Nitroid wants to go to E3 again to conduct another "meaningful" interview! ;D BTW, this is the 3rd time now that TUS has asked for money. I'm not sure about qualifying amounts, but TUS is a fansite that is cashing in on the Metal Gear name. You can coat it anyway you want, but it does boil down to that. FYI. Since I've been in many of these over the years, the more you argue this point the longer and less meaningful this topic will get. Not that I care, but just thought I'de give you the same "too serious" advise.

Whine? Who's whining? Laughing is more like it. Either way, it's still complaining about something completely pointless to complain about. LOL... it's forum! Geez! I'm sure there's a real shortage of message boards out there, especially about MG. Right, so why are you guys making such a fuss about it? Thank GOD the guys at TUS finally gave you lonelyhearts a place to bond. So f...cking sweet I need another dentist visit! LOL what a joke! Maybe yours should be the only MG fansite then? I wasn't aware there was a monopoly on the concept. And narcissistic? How so? Well, lets be fair now; considering the amount of complaining you do about TUS and MGN on top of the fact that you either freak out at or blatantly ignore even the smallest hint of criticism at your own site, I'd say the label of "narcissist" isn't much of a stretch. You know... you're right! I'll should go slap a PayPal logo on my front page and try to cash in! Maybe I'll have my visitors pay for my E3 ticket! LOL! I'm not going to lash back at this, because it's clear that you don't really have a good understanding of what it takes to run a large scale website. If you any level of experience with a higher traffic server, you probably wouldn't be laughing. Even low-level VPS plans can cost upwards of several hundred. Not everything can be run at Homestead, you know. Guess Nitroid wants to go to E3 again to conduct another "meaningful" interview! ;D (image)BTW, this is the 3rd time now that TUS has asked for money. I'm not sure about qualifying amounts, but TUS is a fansite that is cashing in on the Metal Gear name. You can coat it anyway you want, but it does boil down to that. FYI. Not that I care, but just thought I'de give you the same "too serious" advise. [/quote] It's interesting that you automatically assume that TUS is out to rip people off, but in truth, that kind of attitude shouldn't be all too surprising, seeing as you actually photoshopped an image to make a point. Congratulations, you're an internet tough-guy. But seriously, if you had any experience as a web developer (apart from throwing a bunch of images onto a homestead free site), you might have a better appreciation for what it takes to run a site on a larger scale like TUS does. All I can really say at this point is that you need to take a class in database management and server-side web development very badly, because despite your ignorance on the subject, the level of arrogance you display to compensate is absolutely baffling.
