So I'm back from a hiking/backpacking trip from California. While on the most part the experience was fun, some things that occurred made me realize that alot of people do not follow simple logic.
So we have to hike 7 miles as fast as we can on one of our last days. we arrive at a fork after 3 miles of hiking. The left path is 0.3 miles of hiking, and the right is 0.7 miles of hiking. Obviously even though the vote was to take the left path, we take the right path, because since it's longer that means that the path will be less steep and more downhill. Nope. Steepest hill we hiked. Straight uphill, leg burning hike.
So during lunch, I was given an assignment to cut slices of cheese for sandwiches. I was given a dull, tiny-ass knife to cut a gigantic block of cheese, while the person next to me was given a sharp, serrated huge knife to cut a tiny tomato. And I get sh*t for cutting cutting the cheese a little bit crooked. Seems pretty logical don't you think?
Anyone else have stories that defy simple logical decisions?

Well, I work with Ads and Rebates in my company. The rebate company we use is rather dim. So, I usually handle the invoices we get from them, and those rather big, most of the time into millions. So my Executive VP wanted me to break down our paid out total by vendor. Seems easy enough. So I told the rebate company what we need. Take the invoices that you send us twice a month, take our total, and give me a report that shows how much we’re paying each vendor. Nope! The morons could not do it! It defies all logic! How can you not query your own data! Data that you give me twice a month in printed form! How those morons stay in business is beyond me!
