Tough pick... but I'm giving mine to McCain. And it's NOT because of McCain. The dude is OLD! But I really dislike the flip-flops that Obama does all the time. And, experience is needed. The guy is a newbie in most categories.
Take my homeboys, the Russians. What was Obama's response to their invasion? Yeah, exactly. I have a sneaky feeling Russia is rising and about to start sh*t. Frankly, Obama would be to weak to handle that.
My vote, actually, goes to Palin. I like her. I like her resolve and determination. She has actually accomplished things. And if (or when) McCain resigns(dies) she would be a better president than Obama.

If I could vote (check my "Location"), it would go for Obama. USA needs change, and experience or not, it would do no good for the USA to follow a plan that produced more failures than successes in 8 straight years.
It's sad because, if you ask me, if McCain looses, it won't be because of him or Palin (though the current controversy with her daughters is important to take in account), but because of bush himself.

IMO, both are going to run this country further into the ground.

IMO, both are going to run this country further into the ground. I think the matter here is who is going to run it into the ground LESS.

Personally, I don't really like either of them. For the past two elections Ive had to make my decision based on who I don't like rather than who I like. It's actually kind of sad really. Has really made me come to "appreciate" our wonderful 2 party system and wish that 3rd parties would get more love.
Obama - "Same old Politics" he says yet he goes for one of those same old Washington guys for his VP. McCain - "Not enough experience" he says yet he goes for someone like Palin.
The choice of Palin was a pure, 100% political move that contradicts anything and everything McCain was talking about prior to his decision. Unfortunately, it is an unbelievably smart move and will garner him some of the disgruntled Hillary supporters aka "suburban liberals." As for Barack's choice... Hillary automatically brings Bill and that creates a power struggle at the top. With Biden, it's a clear 1st and 2nd. And you still a get a chunk of Hillary supporters, like the unions. But you all do realize how truly useless the VP is if the president doesn't die. How often has the Senate been in a tie?
I just can't get over a whole segment on the Daily Show of Republicans attacking women politicians, unmarried pregnancies, etc. and then their utter defense of the Palin over the same issues. Of course, I don't doubt the same thing would occur with Democrats. You say what has to be said to put your party into power. That's it.
And let's clear up some things for a moment. Barack Obama worked his ass off to get where he is today. His father left him, raised mainly by his grandparents, and worked his way up, having to actually transfer from one college to get to Columbia. Oh yeah, AND HES BLACK! This whole elitist crap is really pissing me off. And anyway, don't you want your social/educational better to run the country rather than Joe down the street who's a nice guy but would probably make a lousy president?
Now, as for McCain, he did have a tough life. He was a military brat and he was in fact in a PoW camp. For most of his career he has be a right-leaning moderate. He was a sensible person and a respectable individual.
And then both of them ran for president. BOTH of them have changed their opinions. BOTH of them lobbied to the extremes. BOTH of them picked VPs that have little to nothing in common with them but provide an excellent amount of votes. BOTH run with the polls. I don't see how you can bash either one. And neither has high-level executive experience (both have worked on the local level), which is truly the only kind of experience you need to be president. Hell, Lincoln had just as much experience in politics as Barack has.
Now onto the two big issues, Iraq and the economy. You might think I'm going to go for a troop withdrawal. WRONG. I do believe Iraq was wrong because of no exit strategy as Cheney argued back in the early nineties. However, it's our fault for causing instability and we should not just leave it until we have fixed it. It's ashame, and I truly wish people did not have to die for it, but I fear the chaos in the region should a quick timetable be put in place. Now, that doesn't mean we take a hardline with everyone, like I fear John McCain would do. I remember reading an article in the Economist where someone asked McCain what he would have done during the Cuban Missile Crisis. McCain said he would've have pushed the button. I dont know about you, but that scares me a bit.
Economically, I am socialist. I have come to that conclusion over the past two years. While capitalism will always be necessary for a nation to function, I believe we can still implement socialist programs to decrease the gap between rich and poor. I am with Lewis Black on the belief that there is such a thing as being too rich. So automatically I lean towards the Democrats on this one. If McCain weren't currently supporting Bush tax cuts, I might have reconsidered.
So yeah, I'll probably (still dont know if I'll vote or not) vote for Obama as a "lesser of two evils" thing. I doubt he will acquiesce to liberal demands that he immediately extract the troops, but he should at least move towards getting social programs installed.
Oh and I LOOOOVE republican hypocrisy.
