TUS - Ugh... another comeback... again?!

OK, I'm bored so I feel like talking about TUS for a bit. Currently they got this on their PAGE:

Yes, that's right... we're working hard to launch TUS next month!

OK... so... after being down for year after year, they are bringing it back. Just in time for... oh wait... the MG SAGA is over now. Hmmm... Anyway, so the new layout will be better than ever! The new layout will make it the ultimate Metal Gear fansite. Well... that is until they run out of money and start asking for donations, AGAIN!

I truly don't understand working on a project of that scale for absolutely NO REASON! To invest funds and time into something that is completely not needed. There isn't a shortage of MG info out there. There isn't a shortage of Metal Gear and General Gaming communities out there. Heck, they're not even doing it for the love the series, their track record has proven that.

What a silly waste of time. I bet by August you'll see a "Please donate to keep us running" notice on the front page.

So, TUS has reopened. At first glance the new layout definitely is a jaw dropper. Very busy, very impressive. But at a closer look the luster vanishes. The front page, the impressive menus... it's just a shortcut to other pages. The content is really about the same. But it is nice to the gallery back.

Their notion of fans running the news and content... well... LOL we'll see about that. Letting people have the freedom to do such things could backfire really badly. Just look at forums getting out of hand... and now people can control site content? Heh... nothing can "POSEBLEYE" go wrong...

I don't like the layout, it's to chaotic for me. There are links everywhere! Why can't they keep it simple.

Technologically it's very well done, no question there. You have to have some good skills to pull it together like that. But visually it's a clusterf...ck. Not much info content either.

I can't say I like their new layout. It's too busy and has no flow. And there is not game info of any kind. The coding is great, no doubt about it though.
