MGS4: Sub(somthing)
That's what I'm guessing.

Well... I'll take that over MGS5.

The page is updated. Now there is countdown timer and an occasional flash of a "5". Though it may very well be an "S" for Project S. Interesting. Either way, I think we can rule out the posibility of an MGS4 expansion or port to the 360.

Why? I mean, I agree, but there is a slight possibility the S (if it is indeed an S), might stand for MGS4: "S"ub(whatever).
I'm hoping for it to be Project Snatcher, but believe it will turn out to be MGS5, even though I feel it might be too early for such an announcement.

I heard that a lot from around the web. Everyone seems to forget MGS4:
MGS 3 released - November 2004
MGS 4 announced - E3 2005, May (director's chairs trailer).
6 months. At E3 2009 MGS4 will be about a week and half short of 1 year old. So, I don't think it's too early based on Konami track record.

Kotaku: - Analysing the page's source code via Flash, it seems that the current countdown on the site is but one of fiveclocks that will run on the site over the next few weeks. Absolutely absurd, yes, and PR companies, know it's an abhorrentpractice, but what's interesting about this is that the fifth one runs out on June 1. Or, the day of Microsoft's E3 press conference (Sony's is a day later, on June 2).- The site occasionally flashes white when lightning flashes. At the bottom of the screen, you can clearly see the words "APRIL 2007". Does that mean anything to hardcore series fans?- The site's search keywords are "Hideo Kojima", "MGS", "METAL GEAR", "NEXT", "game", "Konami", "Kojima game", "KJP", "Kojima Production". Interesting that, if they're search engine keywords, none of them say "MGS5".So, yes, make of that what you will. www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ZkllM8znx4

Why is everyone so obsessed with the damn meta words on that site? They don't say anything about the game. They're only there to get hits from all who search for those words.

If that silhouette is in fact the main character from one of his next games, then it's pretty much confirmed that he's involved in Lords of Shadow.
However, I'm pretty confident it's not a "real" Kojima game. It's more along the lines of Zone of the Enders, a title he only produced (which isn't being involved much I might add).
And, since Lords of Shadow is developed by Mercury Steam, it's not the title that's going to be announced at the site. That's something else, since it's something being developed by Kojima Productions.

Is it just me, or has the wind picked up more? (on the site with countdown)

Is it just me, or has the wind picked up more? (on the site with countdown) Holy sh*t, have you looked at this recently? Mother nature is really giving it to the poor innocent field. It wasn't that bad before, right? Only 17 more hours! By the time I get off work tomorrow and recheck it, we should have some news.

No, you're wrong. There have been several counters. E3 does not start until Tuesday. So, tomorrow you'll just get another counter, nothing more.

E3 starts today, and the counter ends in about 5 hours. Sony's conference is tomorrow, so the new counter could either stop then, or at Konami's conference which takes place tomorrow also I believe.
Let's take the oppurtunity to laugh a little at all gaming sites who jumped the gun and said the countdown would end during Microsoft's conference and that it had to be MGS4 for the 360... Here we go: ;D ;D ;D ;D
