How are things?

I know we're all busy with our lives so I thought I'de ask what's everyone's been up to?

A couple of weeks ago, my 3.5 years with the Ad Production/Pricing department of CSK Auto came to an end. The company was bought out by O'Reilly Auto (based in Missiouri). Those of you that ever shopped at Checker/Schucks/Kragen/Murray will soon see the new brand name. We got bought out last year. It took a year, but my position was eventually transfered to Springfield. Naturally I didn't go.

Luckily I was able to find a job and started a brand new paths the very next week (last week was my first) with the University of Phoenix. I'm working for the Creative department as a Project Manager. Very sweet environment (9th floor)! Got a heafty salary as well. If things go smoothely I think I'll get a house next year, afterall right now is the best time to buy.

So, that's what's new. This is the 3rd job I've had in the last 10 years. And I like that things are falling more and more into a career. Project Managing in Advertising/Marketing seems to be a path that fits me. So, we'll see where it leads.

My days are often very similar. I've been working with Micron Semiconductor for 14 months now and am hoping I get a promotion sometime in the next 6. There's a position that just opened up in another department that needs to be filled...a woman in a department adjoining mine has applied for it and if she is chosen, will be leaving her much-better paying position and has told me personally that should she get it, she will be nominating me to take her place! Rad!

I moved to a new place with my cousin in this awesome house in Northern VA back in June and that's going pretty awesome. Got a ping-pong table, big screens, plenty of space (actually, too much), foosball table...man-cave with theater seating, you got it. I just started a new relationship with an awesome and beautiful punky tattooed grad student in a college about 50 miles from here and things are just too good to feel like they are actually happening to me. We only get to see each other about twice a week and usually on weekends but fit our date nights in and are tearing up the D.C./MD/VA area pretty well. She likes games as well, though we haven't really talked about it. I know she hasn't played any MGS...we've got a FFX day set up sometime in the near future She's actually on a plane at this moment flying 18 hours to Shanghai, China to visit her ailing father.

I haven't played any videogames in about a month and a half. I need to get on that. But I have been drawing (some MGS stuff as well) and all together, things are looking up for your boy the Jackyl. Been trying to conjur up another essay, but nothing's in development at the moment.

Now think back to 10 years ago.... seems more like a million years ago, doesn't it! Growing up is weird. The fact that I'm almost 30 is just... like... WTF! LOL

10 years ago I was a junior in high school. Somehow, events that happened in 2003-2004 seem much further away. Getting closer to 30 doesn't bother me. I still feel as capable as 20 and even more capable then when I was 15. Sometimes faces and people I come across in the online world really freak me out, though. They just...clash with your old memories of what you remember that person to be like.

That's not what I meant. I mean that it doesn't seem that long ago when I was more of a "hey kid". Now it's like... I'm the guy calling others "kid". LOL

I know what you mean. I saw a few of my High School people of Facebook and it was like... wow... you look different. Though I guess I've changed a lot too.

Nothing much on my side of things: still on law school, got a job, wrote a couple of new books (at this point there should be a tread on the forum about them), and I no longer play videogames as much as I used to/would want to because I'm horribly busy at this point.

That's about it...
