Ishmael

So... Ishmael was Big Boss... right? But how do we explain that he has his right eye? And he is clearly without facial hair.



Now some will say that under the bandages is his new face, to hide from the rest of the world. But that doesn't fit. They escape the hospital on March 11th and the following time stamps are shown in the game:

02:32 AM - Ishmael wakes up in the crashed ambulance, meeting Ocelot.
03:07 AM - Venom wakes up in the crashed ambulance, meeting Ocelot.
05:59 AM - Big Boss parts ways with Ocelot looking like this:



So what gives?!

Is it though? For a series that always prided itself for slavish attention to detail this is s huge miss. Especially for the grand reveal of the plot twist.

I admit, Big Boss should have at least been clean shaven. And the eye-thing is also weird. Maybe they wanted to attribute this to Venom Snake remembering things falsely. I actually think, Mission 46 was supposed to play differently at the end and have many of these minor changes, including a different looking Ishmael, but had to be rushed into production, because they obviously ran out of time at the end. But that's an easy excuse, so I admit, Ishmael looks off and it is a shame in a series such as Metal Gear.

Seems more... Ishmael's face looks much younger.

I still don't get why they didn't make it Solidus or Gray Fox.
