We all already know this but might as well post.
Find a ledge to hang off of.
Then press L1 and R1 at the same time to do a chin-up.
Do this 100 times and you will gain a level in grip, meaning you can hold onto a ledge for a longer time.
Do this up to 300 times (confirm?) and you can get to a max of Grip Lvl. 3.

That, or otherwise hang off of a railing, then drop-catch down to one right below it. This counts as 10 pull ups. Do that 10 times to raise your grip.
