Did anyone use this much?
I’ve recently started using that ability more and found it very fitting for the first two acts. I especially like in Act 2 when you and the rebels sneak past the PMC troops. No box, just hiding in plain sight. It’s a very fun mechanic to experiment with. The hard walks right by you and you roll over and pull your gun for a satisfying headshot!

That is crazy indeed! And in November MGS2 hits 20! Nooo! For me, it won't be 20 until March. In Europe it arrived later I remember buying it in the local "Media Markt" alongside the piggyback guide. I was so excited, but I couldn't play it right away, because I needed to get to private tutoring (I was bad in physics classes, because I moved to a new school, where they already had had it for a year. Finally, in the evening, I could get started! Loved that game, still do... all of them, really. Ironically, when it's really hot outside, I like to boot up MGSV and cruise around in the desert a little, cause some mayhem, get some resources, do some side missions, go back to base and cool myself by watching the surprisingly realistic waves and imagining the cool sea breeze at Motherbase.

Since this topic is talking about MGS4: I did not preorder the collector's edition, with the little Old Snake figure and was a bit devastated when it had sold out on Amazon. So, on June 12th, I went to the local "Saturn" in Munich and there was MGS4. I skimmed through the shelves, read the prices... 69.99, 69.99, 69.99.... 99.99?!! And there was one of the last collector's editions. I bought it right away (as always with the piggyback guide) and I think a newly released DualShock 3. But I had some friends visiting and had film school exams... so I waited until about a month later until I finally played it. Binged the whole thing in 4 days! One act per day.... and the last two together. And I also had to get to more film school business later.
I had such a blast. And like for Snake, for me it had actually been 9 years since Shadow Moses. Even though I love Peace Walker and MGSV, I do admit, no gaming experience quite repeated that feeling of playing MGS4 and finishing that saga that had so long been with me... even though it wasn't really over, yet.
Anyway, peace out.

I have that set! Got it specifically to get the rare Olive Drab variant of the Old Snake figure.
MGS4 is a unique experience. Each act is drastically different. Different part of the world, different environment, different weather, different gameplay options. Each one has its own tone and mood. Plus the graphics are incredible. In Act 3, go into the water under the bridges. Mess around. It’s crazy! Shoot the water. The physics were way ahead of its time.
I’ve never seen a work make so much effort to summarize all the previous games, even the ones outside the series. Act 4 is in my opinion a specifically MGS4 act. Act 2 is MGS3. The rebel uniform modeled after Snake Eater is great and I love the wilderness tracking sequence. Act 3 is the MSX. Young Snake face, Gillian Seed disguise, and tailing the resistance member like MG2. Act 4 is god level nostalgia for MGS1. And finally act 5 is MGS2, a high tech vessel in the middle of the ocean. It’s just a brilliant way to pay tribute to all those titles.

Great summing up not only of the series, but Kojima's entire career, especially if you factor in the solar gun or Five Seven, Jonathan and Ed - Meryl's sidekicks, who are also her sidekicks in Policenauts, Meryl's look in MGS4 harkening back to her look in Policenauts, Metal Gear Mk. II (and III) being essentially identical to Snatcher... even playing voyeur in some cutscenes (as seen in Policenauts in so many scenes)... I could go on. MGSV though really harkened back to the more gameplay-focused style seen in the original MSX games which also nicely bookended the series.

I was looking at ZOE designs and I think the B&B Unit was a reference to those games. Including the suits they wore after the armor came off.
