taking into account big boss was wearing a red beret when he fought against you in metal gear solid snake, i'm leaning towards them having met again after snake eater

What the hell does the red berette have anything to do with it? So they wore the same color berette, big deal.
And guys, I don't know how much more clear I can make this. Jack and John is the same damn name. If your name is John, you can be called Jack. The official name is usually John with Jack being the nickname.

Did anyone notcie how Kojima did a sort of homage to himself and Snatcher? You know, when Sokolov says JACK's russian is superb.
In Snatcher, one character starts to speak Japanese, and anotherone who thinks he knows Japanese says he doesn't understand. The Japanese-speaking character then says that in the video-game-world, Japanese is directly translated into english. The Japanese-speaking guy adds that he himself speaks real-japanese, so if you don't udnerstand it's because you only understand video-game-japanese.
Something like that. Was a while ago I experienced it. But anyway. It's sort of a homage, isn't it?
