When I finished MGS 3, a timeline thing came up that listed the history of the series from the end of MGS 3 to the beganing Metal Gear 1 (the one that came out in 1987). I thought about it for a while. How does Big Boss become evil? I mean he's the good guy in MGS 3 and becomes the bad guy in Metal Gear 1 and 2.... [glow=red,2,300]Why??[/glow] Anybody have any theories or anything?

Hell yeah man there are a whole lot.
MY thoery is that he obtained part of the Legacy from Ocelot (whom has a fascination with Big Boss' skills and they met up later and became friends). With that money, he made his own, personal Metal Gear, and created Outer Heaven.
Since we know that he led the operation that ended up in his own downbringing, we still have no clue why he woulod order his own son to kill him. At least I don't.

Since he established FOXHOUND, he probably became corrupt with power, seeking to exploit this power in every way imaginable.

I find that theory very very wrong.

We don't in which way he pursued his about-face from the U.S. military, all we know is the roots which made that decision come to fruition - the events of MGS3.

He's only evil from Snakes point of view, He might of been making a stand against the Patriots and Philosophers. Solid Snake might of been to him what he was to the Boss in the 60's (after Liquid went missing in the Gulf, he was the one Big Boss chose originally), and she has gone down in history as a War Criminal.

I think they should make MGS 4 a remake of Metal Gear 1 and 2 put together. That would be really great because most people who played the MGS series didn't play the first two games. Also, it would give them a chance to fix up those little details like the title Zanzibar land for example. Where the hell is Zanzibar land? They say it's in the middle east. I live in the middle east (Jordan) and I can asure you that there is no such thing as Zanzibar Land. Zanzibar doesn't even sound like an arabic word.

Its fiction man don't get too worked up with it. I think some where along the line there will be a remade of the first two original games.

In my opinion, he was either doing it for the Patriots or against them, and those two being the only reasonable explanations.
Against them to avenge his loved ones that had left him or been killed becuase of them. To destroy the evil, invisible world power that they had.
For them to be like The Boss, to accept duty and loyalty to "The Mission".
By the way, Zanzibar Land was also set up by Big Boss, check it out in the story section of the MGF website.

yeah i read it. It said Zanzibar Land is a republic in the middle east between Russia, China, and the arab countries. Doesn't make sense.

Tselinoyarsk, Outer Heaven and Shadow Moses do not exist either. They are fictional locations that the games take place in.

I still reckon Tselinoyarsk could be the same place where Big Boss sets up Zanzibar Land. Also being irradiated It might of been easier for him to take with the lack of people living there.

No, Tselinoyarsk is in the middle of Russia. Zanzibar Land was in the middle-east. They aren't realted in any way other than Big Boss has been there.
