The next game could be an expansion for MGS3 just like Substance so then I would say Big Boss.
If it's not an expansion and a new MG game then I would say Solid Snake.

I think he meant the next new game. In any case, at the press conference at the euro release of MGS3 Konami announced that Metal Gear Solid 4 would feature Solid Snake back in action. So, it's pretty safe to say we play as him again.

I always felt that Snake's mission in the Big Shell should've happened in Substance. That is my big gripe with that game. We got 500 useless VR missions instead of just doing Snake's part in the Big Shell like everyone asked for. Substance was a HUGE let down for me. If they made it so you can play Snake's part in that mission, the sales for that game would've went through the roof, since everyone complained about Raiden. Substance would've been a true expansion of MGS2, not that VR junk.

Not even boss battles, expect Fortune and that would've been a boring battle. The whole room is obstacle free, so you get attacked easily. |

Well it doesn't have to be a 7-hour mission like it was with Raiden. It could be shorter, much as the Tanker part was.

That's a good point.
It would have been great to actually continue the Tanker up to Big Shell and complete all the side missions that Solid Snake was doing.
Like show Otacon take Solid Snake out of the water and save him.

I think Substance could be a lot better! Just like Genaside II says that could have been a great thing to show as an extra!
BTW, Genisde II were did you read Otacon saved Solid Snake with a small boat while the Tanker sank? Did you read it from my site? ;D
