On the site offical site it says something about him doing it because fans and co-workers demanded for him to do it. I myself thought he didn't want to do MGS3 when I was fighting The Pain...but he obviously did it, plus I don't think anyone else wanted to do it.

I think it will be good for him doing this game, but maybe if they do another series they should hand the directing over to someone else and leave him as the writter and producer, or he could do some other things. I dunno. I like Ghost Babel alot, especially Marrionet Owl, that director is doing Acid and Acid 2, isn't he? I will have to play Acid before making my decision on him, if the games still have an MGS style "feel" then I am ok with him as a director, if not, and I still like Acid, I would suggest he stays to the Alternate Timeline.
