Exacly. All the Metal Gear games have revolved around the Patriots in some way (Maybe not purposfully in Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2, but Outer Heaven, for continuity, seems to of been built for a "no patriot zone" or something, someone put it like that on this forum.) so if The Patriots are over, Metal Gear production will just be part of war, there will be no need for Snake. Although, he could just move to a different country not ruled by the patriots.

No, at the end of MGS3, it was stated that the US got all the money eventually, thats when they became The Patriots.

I wasn't saying it in that way, what I was saying was that the world is used to having tha Patriots around so how would the world survive?

Actually, only America is used to having The Patriots around. Considering eventually America got back the rest of the Legacy (Or did Ocelot pocket some of it?) then I think that it was just America they ended up rulling over, or maybe Russia and China aswell. That leaves plenty of the world uneffected by The Patriots (Except for a small amount through Americanisation) up until the digital age (When they have lost some control anyway) so no, I don't think the whole world will crumble, but some of it could. And that would be bad, so The Patriots can't die really, I guess that is why there have only been 4 or 5 attempts to take them down...maybe Snake will try...all of the other times Metal Gear has been used, I still think Snake will try and use Metal Gear, but possibly fail. Maybe work with Liquid.

the world depends on the american economy. if the patriots lose grip and money is lost to say, philanthropy...that would make things mighty complicated.

No doubt it might cause some problems in other parts of the world, but not all of them. And it wouldn't mean the end.

Eskimo has a point. Though Americans may not be the smartest people in the world, we certainly are the spendiest. American blow money on stupid things all the time. We spend it faster than they can print it. Hell, 50 Cent had a custom DS with urban camo and the "G-Unit" logo engraved on it for several hundered dollars more than a regular one cost. People always import the latest gadgets from Japan months before they get here. Without Americans spending every nickel they have on useless crap, and American Companies churning out a good portion of the useless crap the world's economy could very well go topsy-turvy.
