Okay, so the army made Metal Gear Rex and the navy made Metal Gear Ray and i think they have some involvement with arsenal gear. I was just thinking, wouldn't it be cool if the Air Force made a metal gear? i don't know what it'd be called but i'm sure it'd be cool. Just a thoughterino....

This has been discussed before, but nothing really came from it. I've seen some really sh*tty pictures someone drew of an air force metal gear. But they were so terrible I doubt that's what it would look like.

Wasn't RAY owned by the Marines, NOT the Navy?

Yes. But the Navy had their own Metal Gear project as well.

You guys know what MARINES stands for, right? "My Ass Rides In Navy Equipment, Sir!" :+D
Everyone had their own REXs (other nations, DOD branches, anyone with internet access and a budget I guess), and I would imagine many differnt people started their own next-gen models. The Marines were the ones working on RAY as an Anti-Metal Gear Metal Gear. It would have made more sense to develop RAY as a basic chassis that could be outfitted to differnt mission types, but I suppose it was built more to counter the swelling MG production (or really, the project was directed in a way to benefit Arsenal Gear at the exclusion of all else).

I think REX was just a black project for the goverment in general (joint DARPA/ArmsTech deal), no Department of Defense/military branch association.
I think Arsenal was off the books too. As cool as it would be for Navy to have their own Gears, I dont' think we've seen anythign of their handywork.

The REX, RAY and Zone Of Enders statues were just subtle nods to other games. Don't state an out-there theory as fact.

REX and RAY statues were there to verify Colonel Gurlukovich's theory about Ray being a Russian made weapon. It also confirmed ocelot's theory about RAY being a Patriot funded project. "I think REX was just a black project for the goverment in general (joint DARPA/ArmsTech deal), no Department of Defense/military branch association. I think Arsenal was off the books too. As cool as it would be for Navy to have their own Gears, I dont' think we've seen anythign of their handywork. Fish " I remeber Commander Jackson saying something about how the RAY is much better than the Navy's REX...Or was it the "army's REX" one or the other.. The Zone of the Enders thing could very well have been a dream first created by Granin and later resurfaced until it was finally made real. Why not? Same producer, same directing styles. Sure the storylines are completely unrelated but we can suspend disbelief can't we?
