What if, Liquid knew that Ocelot was a spy all along, and somehow arranged for his arm to be transplanted into Ocelot's body in case he died at Shadow Moses. As an insurance?

I dont think he knew. Besides, why would he want his arm to be transpanted onto Ocelot? First of all, he had no idea he was gonna die. He was pretty confident he was gonna get what he needed. Second of all, how could he have known that putting his arm onto Ocelot would bring him back to life?
That line at the end of MGS2 has always been a little farfetched to me.
"Why do you think I chose Ocelot as my host?" -Liquid
I find it very hard to believe that Liquid knew Ocelot had supernatural abilites and that with his help he would come back to life. I think he said that line to make Snake and them believe he was one step ahead of them, and always had been.

Liquid living through an arm with Ocelot is one of the issues thats been bothering the fans since MGS2, I think Mr Kojima needs to explain that somewhere in the future games.

The only thing that actually needs explaining is how Solidus got ahold of Liquid's body. We all know why Liquid is alive.

I dont think how solidus got liquids body needs to be explained because if you recall, the president at the time was solidus and ocelot was working for him so he would have the insentive and enough clearance to do what he wanted with the body. Why he didnt touch BB's body is a mystery maybe he did and made him what he is for MGS4?

SPOILERS I thought they explained that the reason that works is because Ocelot is the Sorrow's son and since his dad could speak to the dead, Ocelot could 'communicate' with the deceased Liquid (not likely was it intentional though). Once awoken, they started to fight for control of the body. Fish

It was never explained, but that's the only avenue that makes "sense."
I say "sense," because even though it makes sense, it's pretty stupid.

Whenever it get mentioned in the next MG game then it will be an official explination.
