Jumping a bit further into the Metal Gear timeline, Kojima shared a chart detailing the organization of the Metal Gear saga. The chronology begins with MGS3: Snake Eater, followed by Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2, all three of which form the "Big Boss Trilogy." MGS, MGS2 Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 4 follow in that order, forming the Solid Trilogy.
I tried explaining this to a lot of people, now here are the facts by Kojima himself. MGS3 never was part of the Solid series.
And that thing they said about MGS5.. All I can say is that IGN.com is just a bunch of numb nuts. They think they know alot, but they don't. Don't worry, Mr. Kojima said it himself, he will never hand over Metal Gear that easily.

Konami will no doubt contine making games, wether be a game that continues the story, or a different one like AC!D or something else. They know MGS sells.

its a fitting end, big boss had his trilogy, this would be snake's trilogy, the conclusion to the entire saga, i hope, kojima ties all the loose ends with this one, and completely close it, leave no stone unturned, im glad hes doing MGS4, so this would be a perfect end to the series, an entire MGS saga Kojima created

I had hoped he would have stopped after MGS3... But maybe that's just me. I mean, if he isn't going to go in full-hearted, then he might as well leave it as it is.
I mean, what's up with putting his name last in the screenplay credits? And why pass the bill to Shuyo Murata?
And don't bother trying to flip my coin. I'll stand by my opinion untill I've played this game...

To be honest, I think that the only reason MGS4 is being made, is so that Kojima's first game on PS3 will be based on something he feel secure in doing.
Okay, maybe that's harsh... But anyway, I'm not mad or anything, just a little upset. It'll wear off, I'm sure.

good point, but most wanted mgs3 to end the series, but i wanna see the legacy of snake concluded, tie all the loose ends, so im hoping mgs4 ends the series, they can make acid after acid, i just wanna see the main story line to end
