I thought the way they did the radio/codec was quite good.

Same here. I liked the layout and menu visuals better in the trailer than the original game. The graphics look better too. I cant wait for sony to port the original to PSP.(Sony is brining out a PSone Emulator for the PSP with PSone games ported specificly for the PSP. Legal of course)

Those graphics look like they were made with early PS2 devkits. I wish I could find out the story on this.

Well, think of Final Fantasy or Dino Crisis. They had PS2 quality cutscenes, but the gameplay grapics laged. Kojima always made it clear that he wanted the cutscenes and gameplay to be of the same graphic quality. I'm sure that's why he toned it down. He wanted them to match, and PSone could not do both.

Maybe that was all just a concept about bring back Snake into the 3D world, with those graphics at the time.
