OK, we all heard Kojima say that this one will wrap everything up in the main timeline. But why? I was giving this some thought and came up with this:
Kojima is tired of Metal Gear and wants to do other projects, but he doesn't want someone else to potentially ruin the story he made. Pride in his own creation.
However, then I thought of a more practical reason. Voice actors. Just look at Twin Snakes, they couldn't get everyone from the original game. Same with this. I'm sure it's getting harder and harder for them to get David Hayter all the time like before. The mad said it on several occasions that his schedule is very full. So I think that this is the main reason why Guns of the Patrios is planned to be the last main game. They know damn well that Metal Gear fans won't accept a substitute when it comes to the long time running characters.

I highly doubt that.
You think David Hayter would turn down MG, knowing his huge fan base?

Yeah, I don't think a reason for making the series stop is the voice acting.
And you know, for the right price there's aways those few "not yet planned" hours in the scedule...

I thought in Twin Snakes they got all the same voice actors (except the ninja, but they still had him as the Darpa chief) they all just used their real names instead of pseuduonyms.
