Gameplay Features:
Solid Eye - A monitor-equipped eye-patch developed by Hal Emmerich. Images captured by the Solid Eye are analyzed by the host computer which then produces detailed information on visible surroundings such as vehicles or enemies. The system can also produce data on the user's current location and the progress of the current battle, unifying all useful data under one system. The Solid Eye is equipped with a retina laser that projects 3D representations of solid bodies in view.

The Solid Eye is also equipped with a radar, night vision and thermal vision. The radar can be viewed in two modes. The Organic and Inorganic mode. The Organic mode can view soldiers personal ID numbers, allowing the user to see which soldiers are his enemies, and which are his allies. The Inorganic mode shows the user additional information on vehicles stored in the Solid Eye's database. It also shows the position and distance of enemy vehicles.

The Solid Eye can also view the user's weapon status. Which is displayed on the bottom right.

Well, you can use the Solid Eye System from Otacon, it has multiple functions.

in an interview with kojima in the new PSM mag, it is revealed that raiden will not actually be a playable character within the storyline. however, he will be playable with the online gameplay.
