Would Kojima really allow them to mess with his timeline? I mean really. MG to MGS4 is his legacy, the greatest part of it anyway. Why would he allow someone to not only take a chance with the main cannon, but to add in gameplay features that never have been a part of the Metal Gear formula?
I just don't see him allowing that, I know I wouldn't.

He's not directing 3.5?

Nope, Shinta Nojiri is the director and producer. It would seem that he is the "handheld" Metal Gear guy. He directer Ghost Babel and both Acids. Incidently, his style of Metal Gear I dislike, regardless of the story quality.

Well it dont matter if he would allow it or not, because apperantly he is.
Besides, I got a question. Is he writing the storyline? If he is, the more reason to like the game. I think maybe he is, 'cause think about it. MGS4 makes is talking about Outer Heaven again and this game is about Big Boss's life prior to Outer Heaven. Im seeing a connection here by Hideo.

Perhaps, but why would the Metal Gear Saga DVD specifically make use of the fact that it's SIX games in the saga? Why would Kojima toss in another one like that?

I've made peace with the fact that they will be whoring out MG games, several per year now. Just look at Splinter Cell. But in all this, I knew that the main Kojima timeline is left alone. Now this. I have no problem with Nojiri as a game director, but I don't like him as an MG director. He is more fit for a Final Fantasy game rather than Metal Gear.

I don't think it will be THAT bad. And I was'nt dissappointed in Ghost Babel, even though its not in the main timeline. And I'm sure Kojima will take some part in it's creation at some point, no matter what he said about leaving. He might just be a producer, just an advisor.

Yeah, but why mess with it at all? For what?
And I really don't get why people get all excited about the Big Boss Gray Fox thing. IF Gray Fox is actually shown in the game, he'll only be a child, since the game is set in the 70's. Fox isn't that much older than Snake, and Snake was born in 1972.
