Well.. I just watched the 15min trailer and it seems pretty damn awesome. It's cool to see Raiden again and so, making him the ninja of this game is Kojimas input of some of dat japanese effect to a pretty much western game. Awesome. By the way, did anyone else notice Raidens faggish HEELS hahaha, oh wow.

Seems the Metal Gear has a meme of its own...the role of ninja seems to be something passed from game to game, or if you like, from console to console. Metal Gear Solid was one (console) generation ago, Metal Gear Solid 2 is the current generation, and the PS3 will be the next generation. There is a definite sense of the passing of this meme from generation to generation in this way.

Doe's anyone think this might be more than one mission again. I was thinking the grave he salutes might be someone who dies in the first part of the game.

Just a feeling, I find it hard to think of anyone in particular who Snake would grieve for so much, being a fair few years since Shadow Moses. MGS 2 and 3 both had a first mission (virtuous Mission and The Tanker) which ended in terrible consequences and led into a completely different mission (the main part of the game Snake Eater, Big Shell).

You know what I just noticed? In the trailer, when the characters are being "introduced", Hideo makes it seem like they're actually talking to the viewer. They all look straight at the camera as if they were talking to us. I just found tha to be a pretty nice touch.
