They messed up in MGS3, and now again in the Portable Ops.
In MGS3 the bluprints showed REX, not TX-55.
Now, in PO, they show Big Boss with the remade FOXHOUND logo, the one shown in MGS. But they don't show the original FOXHOUND logo.
Why?

Mr Kojima might fix that by the time the game comes out, from the look of MPO trailer it seems like it will be a nice filler in the timline gap.

They messed up in MGS3, and now again in the Portable Ops. In MGS3 the bluprints showed REX, not TX-55. Yeah, the TX-55 was made by Big Boss wasnt it? Big Boss never got ahold of the REX's blueprints, so thats why he couldnt create REX. He made a MG of his own, modeled after the one he saw in the blueprints. Since Ocelot is the one who ended up with the blueprints, Big Boss could never create REX. This part makes perfect sense to me. It's just a freaking logo. Im sorry but the reason you're not enjoying the MGS series anymore is cause you just keep looking for the littlest flaws you can find that are irrelevant. You're making yourself not enjoy MGS.

I agree.
BlackOps looks great. I don't see why everyone is giving it a thumbs down without even playing it.

OK, well I really don't see how anyone can be OK with something as obvious as character appearances.
There is a 6 year gap between the two titles, and yet everyone looks EXACTLY the way they did during Snake Eater, down to the damn cloths!!! OK, Big Boss got himself a new costume, that's about it.
There was only a 2 year gap between MGS and MGS2, yet everyone was redesigned and remade. I can't believe you guys don't have a problem with that.

It's a PSP game, it's not a huge game like the other MGS games, thats why they didnt take the time to completely redo a new game. Why waste time creating new models when you already have something to work with? Like I said man, you just keep looking for things NOT to like. First you had a problem with the story, not with the graphics. This coming from a man who praises MGS, the one with the crappiest graphics of all. You shouldnt judge the game for the way it looks. And yeah, from MGS to MGS2 everyone got a new look, but because they were huge games.
You need to think outside the box and steer away from classic MG and see MG is expanding. Once you accept that, you'll be able to enjoy these new MG games.
All I got left to say is dont judge a book by its cover.
But then again, if you dont like it so much, just ignore it and stop complaining.
Sorry if I sounded like a jerk or something, but I cant stand complaints like these about a minor game that shouldnt be looked into too much. Just sit back and enjoy the show man.

It's not a minor game, that's the problem. Ghost Babel is minor game. Acid 1 and Acid 2 are minor games. When a title becomes part of the main cannon, regardless of what system it's on, it becomes a big deal. To me anyway. If they want to mess around with Acids and Babel, I could care less. It has nothing to do with the timeline I love. But this one is different. This one is part of the main series. Hence I'm being VERY picky.

Remember when we debated stuff like this with MGS3? I thought we said its just a game, and it's not to be worried about.

AG u gotta relize that this is the first MPO trailer, remember the first MGS3 where Snake did not look like the way he looked in the final game. So by the time the game completes they will have diffrent costumes for them i bet.

You know, you guys are wrong. I'm not searching for reasons to dislike this game, in fact I want to find reasons to look forward to it. I'm judging things based only on what I've actually seen thus far.
Things that I'm not happy about right now:
1. Kojima is NOT directing, Nojiri (Mr. Acid) is. I don't like Nojiri's games, not the style nor his approach to making them. 2. MGS comic styled cutscenes. I don't like the way they looked in the paper or the PSP comics, and now they make it part of a main game. 3. Character models have not been changed since Snake Eater. 4. Questionable gameplay since we haven't seen much of it yet. 5. Lack of need for this game. Snake Eater was more then enough of a prequal. 6. Kojima said that he only had intentions for 6 games. 3 for Big Boss and 3 for Solid Snake. Why the hell are we now looking at a 7th?
Can it turn out good, I'm sure. I would think that since they're making it cannon, then Kojima will pay some attention to the project. But then again, you never know.
From what I've seen right now, I'm not leaping for joy.
Oh, and
True, the first MGS3 trailer was shown a year and half before the game came out. This one is out this year. At this stage of production they should have things like character apperance ironed out.

I agree with AG on this one. Which is rare, I guess. But anyway, even if they insisted on keeping the same character models, at least change their clothes! Doesn't Eva, a woman of good looks and semi-good fashion, ever change her bra? Or does she have a huge collection of black underwear?
And talking about Eva, didn't she disappear in Hanoi?
And can we be sure what we've seen this far isn't just from multiplayer? And does this game have a single-player experience at all? Maybe it’s just using MGS3 as a backdrop and a gimmick?

I really dont like this new portable ops. I totaly agree with AG on the character models.
How the hell is Para-Medic a PLAYABLE CHARACTER. She sits on her ass at HQ telling snake how to heal himself and teaching him about the wildlife. How does she fit into any storyline or BATTLE for that matter.

You either haven't seen the gameplay or you are blind. It clearly says in the trailer "FULL SINGLE PLAYER CAMPAIGN!!" Everyone jumping the gun (as usual) is making me mad. No one has any faith in the MG series anymore. I'm going to be around until there is absolutely NO MG games being made.
