Yeah? Where did he say that? And what possible explanation should be given anyway? Big Boss and The Boss aren't the only ones who know Close Quarter Combat you know. Further more, it may not even be the same CQC as in MGS3. It's a trained soldier taking down an enemy. That's common and does not indicate anything related to The Boss. What's next, they show Meryl put lipstick on, "OH, OH, she's EVA's daughter!!!" my point being that kojima would explain it. that's it. chill.

Well, in Metal Gear Solid, Master Miller (Liquid) calls the punch, punch, kick combo CQB, Close Quarter Battle.

Its ridiculous when people talk about the CQC in MGS3 like that's the first thing ever introducing CQC, when basically every kind of hand to hand combat is CQC, CQB whatever you wanna call it.

I agree, Snake would be very adept at CQC, considering he can easily overpower any guard in all previous games. His would still be very different than Big Boss's since he developed his own style with The joy/The Boss. Anyone else a bit disappointed he's using a knife though, considering his dislike for blades in MGS2.
I'm still hoping he'll survive the game, the other two games with Solid always ended on a nicer note at the end.

I don't think Snake is opposed to all kinds of bladed weapons. In MGS2, remember, he was referring to Raiden's sword. I'm sure Snake has no use for a sword, but a personal combat knife should be looked upon on the battlefield as a neccessary essential and he'd be ignorant to think he's better of without one.

He said he wasn't a big fan of blades, but I don't think that would prevent him from carrying such a necessary tool as a combat knife. Though he would probably be reluctant to use it.
