Here are some of the question asked in an interview with Kojima and the British Official Playstation 2 magazine
OPS2: Will Raiden be a playable Character?
Kojima: This time only Snake will be the only playable character. Raiden only appears as an AI-conrolled supporting character.
OPS2: The trailer shows snake attending a funeral. Whose is it?
Kojima: I'll give you a hint: It's probably the person you're thinking of...
OPS2: How will you feel if snake dies in MGS4?
Kojima: I'm very happy if Snake dies because I don't have to create MGS anymore! (dear god no!-Me) Even If sanke dies he will live on in all of your hearts. In Japan, the main chracter often dies and becomes a legend. SInce I don't know how western audiences will respond to this, so I may have second thoughts. I CANNOT REVEAL THE REASON, BUT STORYWISE SNAKE HAS TO DIE (Shock horror!)
Well there you go, there's to more Questions on The octo-suit and the lack of dual shock/integration of motion senor which I couldn't be bothered to post but I will if anyone wants me to.

So he's visiting the grave of The Boss.
I'm all for either Snake dying physically or dying in the sense that he disappears, or is made to look like he died. Either way suits me. It would just be very surprising if he actually died.

You know, I hear people say that and I just don't get it. There is only one grave Snake would salute and that's Gray Fox. Why would he be saluting The Boss? He knows nothing about her. Hell, it wouldn't even be Big Boss since Snake dislikes his ideal. C'mon, it's clearly Fox.

I just take it that from Kojima's statement, "It's probably who you're thinking of...", thus far in the series we've only seen one grave: that of The Boss. That is the reason that I believe Kojima had this in mind when he said it. What evidence can claim that it is Gray Fox's grave? Although I would find it much better if it were the grave of Gray Fox since he didn't know The Boss and couldn't possibly know of her sacrifice, whereas with Jaeger, he did.

Plain Logic. Big Boss saluted The Boss becuase he knew her personally. Snake knew and admired Fox in MG, MG2, and MGS. He even references him in MGS2. It's only fitting that Fox makes a "cameo" in MGS4.

Well I have something to add. Wasn't The Boss buried right in Tselinoyarsk? It seems too coincedencial that Snake would be visiting a graveyard right in Tselinoyarsk, which happens to be right where The Boss is. I am guessing it's Gray Fox.
I say make the death kinda like something from the movie The Rock. Ever seen The Rock? In the end the guy says that Sean Connery died by his body vaporizing in the water, when actually he's right in front of him.

The Boss is not buried in Tselinoyrsk, I have no idea where you could possible get that.
As for The Rock ending, no. That would work with MGS1 where the US wanted Snake dead and I could see a scene like that where the Colonel covers for him. In MGS4 they are desperate to take out Liquid and bring in a very old Snake. I don't see an ending like that for it.

i don't even think kojima really answered the question. everyone has a different opinion of who they think it is in that grave. he basically dodged the question.
i believe it to be gray fox. although, if it turns out to be the boss, it might explain how solid is now using CQC.

Yeah that's another unanswered question for the TGS 05 Trailer. Snake was using CQC.

He probably knew it the whole time. Think about it. Why would a clone of the world's greatest soldier, whom has been in the military for decades not know CQC?

The man is a trained soldier. What makes your think that it's CQC anyway? He took down a guy, so what? Does this mean anyone who knows hand to hand combat gotta go salute The Boss? That's just stupid.
Will there be CQC style combat in MGS4? Yes. Why? Because they came up with it in MGS3 and it was cool. That's about it.
You guys make the wierdest connections. Why the hell would Snake salute some chick that trained the guy that tryed to kill Snake on 2 separate occasions. Not mention giving him the sinical world view he had ever since Outer Heaven.

Yeah? Where did he say that? And what possible explanation should be given anyway? Big Boss and The Boss aren't the only ones who know Close Quarter Combat you know. Further more, it may not even be the same CQC as in MGS3. It's a trained soldier taking down an enemy. That's common and does not indicate anything related to The Boss. What's next, they show Meryl put lipstick on, "OH, OH, she's EVA's daughter!!!"

Assuming that would be shorthanded. What makes me think that he does know CQC is how he's holdig the knife with the M4, and just how he moves and his stance. And if he knew it the whole time, why didn't he use it in Sons Of Liberty or MGS1? He doesn't have to go salute the Boss. I don't believe he does. He probably doesn't even know who she is. But the fact that Snake just used the simple punch-punch-kick combat in all the other games and then, whoop! Snake's using CQC (if it is CQC) in MGS4. EDIT: Meh I don't know. Maybe AG is right, because the CQC was a good addition in MGS3, so they put it in MGS4.

Well, Snake didn't use Camoflauge in MG1, MG2, MGS1, and MGS2. Yet it's clear that he'll be using it in MGS4 though.
That's what I love about the MG series, they take everything in one game and bring it over into the next, plus new additions. Hence the whole evolution thing that keep talking about.
BTW, that's also the reason why I dislike handheld MG games since they break the evolutionary cycle.
