I personally would have to go with a 2-3.
I'm somewhat interested in seing how the story ends, but I'm not even sure of that.
1. I'm just don't find games impressive anymore. Yeah it looks super real, who cares?! It was exciting with MGS2 since it was the first time things looked real. But 5 years later.... Meh.
2. Is it the end? We can't even be sure of that. With all the raping of the Metal Gear name on the PSP as of late I wouldn't be surprised if the story continued after MGS4.
Overall, I just don't have that "Metal Gear" feel. At one point, every little detail was something to get excited about. Now... I think they just ruined Metal Gear for me. There are several Metal Gear titles each year, most of which are just crap. I'm sick of all the remakes, expansions, and "experiments".
I do believe MGS4 will be the last game for me, and therefore hope it's the last one in the cannon. I doubt I would follow the series if it continues after that.

I would agree, I don't think it's that bad though. But, it just seems like a rushed just to end the series. The plot and story sucks. All of a sudden Liquid owns an army in the middle east. "The patriots are involved too". What a stupid end to the series, and Snake has 6 months to live o0o0o0o how routine.
4-5

I'm pretty excited to see how things pan out. I can wait however long it takes, though. I'm pretty sure this is definitely the end. At least it is for the Kojima era of Metal Gear, so it's probably the last Metal Gear game I'll be getting. 8 overall.

6-7
Gameplay still has hope, but the plot has gone to waste. Snake isn't trying to kill himself when he puts the gun in his mouth, he's pointing a gun at the back of a thousand MG fans and pulling the trigger. Back in MGS1, MGS2, and MGS3, Snake was this badass who kills people and slit's their throats. And no one helps him. No Snake is old, and has help from all these people? What the f...ck.

I'm looking forward to it but know I'll be waiting a long time for the PS3 to get cheaper.

Sure, you're running a great site and maybe you feel obligated to cover those games for your visitors, but as a Metal Gear fan, why don't you just stick with the real games? Personally, I don't see it as you. I don't see three MG-games popping up every year. I see one game popping up every third year.

The problem is that the line between "real" and not real Metal Gear games is getting thinner and thinner. And if Kojima leaves the series to someone else, it'll vanish completely.
What if they decide to make MGS5? No Kojima, no Snake. Then what? It cotinues the story... As a Metal Gear fan, how can you ignore that?

No Kojima and no Snake would mean no game. Without those two factors it cant be called Metal Gear. And I'm not going to take the risk saying Hideo Kojima is going quiet after Metal Gear Solid 4.

I'll be able to ignore that because it's Kojima's story, and once someone else takes over, it's not his Metal Gear anymore. And it is his Metal Gear that I like so much.
