Is it going to be made? I'm confused. Some say no, others say yes.

Can someone confirm if Kojima has sold the rights to any studio or production company?
I read an interview over a year ago with Christian Bale in a publication I can't remember now. In one segment of the interview, he hinted quite laconically about an upcoming role he had. He couldn't say much on it, of course, but hinted that the character he would be playing was from a videogame. When pressed further about the identity of this character, he laughed and said - to paraphrase, "Well, let's just say he's the only videogame character who wouldn't get his ass kicked for having a mullet."
I've never heard anything further on that or his involvement in anything Metal Gear related. That was a long time ago, so someone in either Bale's camp or the movie studio camp must have changed their minds. But what else could that statement mean beside the obvious?

From what I remember in E3, a special Kojima pamplet was distributed with MGS jokes and all, one of them being that Hideo confirmed a MGS movie on the works. But like I said, the pamplet was filled was about jokes and all. Im not sure about this though.

I don't think there's anything official about the movie yet. Something that big would be publically announced.

Be careful. IMDb also listed Lil' John as being in MGS3.

Well, according to PSM, the movie is a go. Hideo just signed a deal. This both good and bad news to me. Good because it will not mess with the games storyline, it will have its own independent storyline. And bad because... well, game to movie adpations never work. Im a MGS, but quite frankly wouldnt care about them making MGS "look bad" with a sh*tty movie. So what? I play the games, I know they're awesome, thats all I know, and thats all I care about. Now, if it interfered with the game's story, then I would be mad beyond belief. As long as the games are left intact, I say to Hideo and whoever he signed that deal with: go nuts!

As long as Kojima is directly involved with the project, it'll be fine. I have full confidence in that. My concern is the level to which he will be involved.

I personally think that if the movie was made in 3D instead of having actors who sound/look nothing like the game characters.
By 3D i dont mean use the MGS4 engine i mean like those really good 3D Movies which look almost real like final fantasy.

A Splinter Cell movie? Splinter Cell has no story what so ever. (No, Tom Clancy isn't involved anymore, fanboys. )
