I dont remember ever discussing this on this place (maybe you guys did while I was banned), so let me just post it. Is Raiden (in MGS4) "dead" like Gray Fox was in MGS1? Think about it. We see Snake visiting a grave on the trailer. I know I "posted" that I was almsot sure it was The Boss's grave, but like most people have said, why would he visit her grave? There have been talks about it being Gray Fox's grave, that is more likely. But also, Hideo said that MANY things have passed between MGS2 and MGS4; lots of "mini stories" that many of them would just be discussed in a couple of lines of dialogue in MGS4. So with so many things happening, theres a big chance that Raiden could've been killed. And that could be the grave Snake is visiting.
How? Well, many think that after MGS2, Snake hasnt been doing much. But he said that he would definately find Olga's child. So maybe between MGS2 and MGS4, Snake went to look for the Patriots and such (of course, wasnt very successful.) Raiden was involved somehow, and could've got killed during the process.
In and interview, Hideo just smiles when the interviewer commented that Raiden looked like a Cyborg Ninja similar to Gray Fox.After Hideo commented on those "mini stories" between MGS2 and MGS4, he was asked if raiden was killed, because Raiden "looked like a ghost." Of course, he didnt answer. He then states that "Raiden's blood isnt real. It's white, actually, and artificial-which is why his face is so pale."
Now I know what you're thinking. Raiden had artificial blood in MGS2, but the blood was still red. This one is white.
So what do you guys think? I gotta say, I think Raiden did die and underwent the same process Fox did.
"PSM: If so... he IS a cyborg?
Hideo: (Smiles)"
I'll leave you all to ponder on that.
