Why in the Sam Hell will they not just remake MG and MG2? I don't get it. They remade MGS...and it was kinda garbino in my opinion. Yes, better graphics...but making it only for Game Cube was dumb because no other game in the series was on Game Cube (besides the originals being Nintendo) I can understand maybe making it on Nintendo AND PS2...but Nintendo only was dumb. That is my opinion. And of course there were the completely over-the-top cut scenes that had me thinking "wtf?" the entire game. The Cyborg Ninja parts were amazing, but Snake did way too much crazy stuff. And why did they re-do the dialogue? Dumb. haha.
But it seems like remaking MG and MG2 would solve so many problems. You could just add in alllll the info from Snake Eater and PO, and add in some little things about Solid Snake being Big Boss' son and what not. And, of course, we actually would get a MUCH better visual interpretation of what these games look like! it's hard to visualize it as a 2D world...you know?

Maybe because it would take like two years to produce each title and it would cost several millions to do. And Silicon Knights, who did the remake, are working on a trilogy for the 360, starting with Too Human. And I doubt Kojima Production would ever consider to to the games themselves. The team behind Ac!d is busy with Portable Ops and the possible follow ups to that game.
And why this need for remakes? Can't people just play the originals and appreciate them as the innovative master pieces they are? Metal Gear 2 is still one of the best Metal Gear titles in my opinion, and it's definitely one of my favorite games of all time. It doesn't need to be remade with better graphics and updated game mechanics.

Yeah, that's a good idea. Let's make the original titles that started it all even more absoleet.
Look, Twin Snakes was a failure, one that hopefully they learned from.
About the only thing that I want to see is a Digital Novel about the first two games. There were no cutscenes back then, so something like that would be a great addition to them.

See, I fail to understand the point of the MGS comics. We already know the story. Granted, the comics do put the two endings together.
But making a novel for the first two games would be perfect. The plot of MG1 is very simple, they can definetly spice it up a bit. MG2 is still good, but the game lacked cutscenes to really make a strong impact. The digital novel could help it with that.
Instead of remaking and retelling, they need to add and expand. Give us something we don't have. And more importantly (*smirking at the Acid games*) something that we WANT.
