Likes and dislikes, speak your mind on this game.
My take on it.
The further we get into the previews, the more interested I become in it. At first I hated the idea. Having had a bad taste of portables from Ghost Babel to the Acids, I had my doubts on this being a cannon title. However, as of late I see they are taking the game seriously.
Pros:
* The story looks good, as can only be expected from a cannon.
* Gameplay. Yeah, well it is squad base and is new, but it's still military stealth (unlike card play in Acids). Plus it does offer something that the cannon has never had (unlike an MGS1 clone that Ghost Babel was).
* Voice acting and cutscenes are there, GREAT! Granted I'm not thilled with the comic approach, but I do like the originality of it. Almost a Qinton Terantino feel to the game. LOL
Cons:
* Character models and movements are replicated from MGS3. Granted most of the familiar faces are shown in the online mode. The actuall plot campaign will probably ulter their appearance. I hope anyway. As for the movements, I would've loved to see something fresh and original. I hate how portable games utilize the motion schemes from the core titles. Look the Acids, completely based on MGS2, in every way. I hope Portable Ops puts as much distance between it and Snake Eater as possible.
Oustide of that, I can't think of anything bad. The music is good, and perhaps my favorite MGS theme remix. The voice acting seems on par with the MG standards, unlike the flop of Twin Snakes. And we're getting a Premium Package to solidify it as the real deal.
Overall, I'm looking forward to December when I can play it.
