I never liked the idea of Snake/Big Boss leaving The Patriot at The Boss' grave. I just don't think it was neccessary.

What I would've loved to see is Kojima change the script of MG2 just slightly so that Big Boss tells Solid Snake that he has a Patriot in their final battle. How appropriate would that be! The passing of the torch, twice, envolving the same gun. Now that would've been a great plot connection.

I think the idea of leaving a gun named The Patriots behind is beautiful. It's very symbolic.

But I've had the same idea as you. It would be cool.

Wow TBOL, I'd never considered that view. Big Boss laying aside the Patriot was like he was shedding his skin (no pun intended) and ridding himself of the Patriots' control.
