MGS - Saves

A PS2 memory card can take 20 MGS3 saves. I strongely recomend having a card set aside with JUST Metal Gear saves. I have 2 per game. But 20 saves is more than enough for this. This comes in very handy when something new is discovered and you want to try it. This way you won't have to play through the whole game. This is a list of good saving spots that I recomend:

MGS3

01. Virtuous Mission Start (after you get your backpack and talk to the Boss).
02. Rassvet.
03. Virtuous Mission Complete.
04. Snake Eater Mission Start (after landing).
05. Rassvet (meeting Eva, before promped save).
06. Base (where the helicopter is).
07. Cave.
08. Waterway leading to the Wearhouse.
09. Granin Labs Inside Wall.
10. Outside the Wearhouse (Eva tells you about The End).
11. Mountains (after climbing the ladder).
12. Right before Grosney Grad (room after beating The Fury).
13. Torture (promped save).
14. Waterfall (promped save).
15. Weapons Wing (use the box to get sent there via truck).
16. Escape on motorcycle.
17. Escape leading Eva through the jungle.
18. The Boss.
19. Final Mission Save (steath and infinity facepaint obtained).
20. Snake vs Monkey Missions.

MGS2

01. Tanker Deck.
02. The Bridge.
04. The Holds (marines/speech).
05. Tanker Mission Complete (wth stealth and bandanna obtained).
06. Strut A (right after the node/Rosemary intro).
07. Strut B.
08. Strut C.
09. Sturt A (after Peter dies, last bomb disposed, before Fortune).
10. Shell 1 Core.
11. Bridge between Shell 1 and 2.
12. Shell 2 Core.
13. Shell 2 Core B1 (leading Emma out).
14. Torture Room.
15. Meeting Snake (column).
16. VS RAYs.
17. VS Solidus
18. Big Shell Mission Complete (with all 3 wigs obtained).
19. Document of MGS2 Data.
20. MGS2 Substance Data.

01. Heliport
02. Tanker Hanger (vents)
03. B1.
04. B2.
05. Canyon.
06. Nuclear Storage Bld.
07. Lab.
08. B1 (before meeting Meryl).

Really impressive I must say. Though I doubt I would ever do something like that myself. I prefer to play the game from start to finish. And besides, I only have one memory card.

I make it a point to by the extra memory cards just for Metal Gear. I like having the option to go to ANY part of the game and play certain chapters.
