As you all know there that Best character ever on GameFAQs.
In the current tournament Snake lost to the Metroid character, but the contest was restarted. This being the 5th time they are doing it, the winner's of the last 4 were not present. But they were brought in for the Final Battle Rolyal! Each day, the character with the least votes is eliminated.
The Big 6 were:
Mario, Link, 2 Final Fantasy guys, the Metroid chick, and Snake.
The Metroid girl was out first and now Mario has been eliminated with Snake hanging in!!! I'm sure he'll knock off at least one of the FF guys.
This is identical to the results of the Summer event for the best series ever. Zelda beat Final Fantasy with Metal Gear and Mario sharing the 3rd place. Look at the top 5 characters! They represent those games!
With hundreds of thousands of votes, I think it is clear just how big Metal Gear has gotten. Solid Snake and the MG series are now icons of the gaming world right up there with the all time greats. What an honor!

The Legend of Zelda
Final Fantasy
Super Mario Brothers
Metal Gear
Metroid
