I've been thinking about this and I really see a similarity with the way the two are place in their repsective genres...
Both are iconic. Batman is one of the icons of the comic book world while Snake has risen to that status in the gaming industry.
Both are place along sides other icons. Batman is among greates like Superman, Spiderman, and Captain America. Snake stands tall with the gaming giants like Mario, Link, and Samus.
Both are the most down-to-earth and realistic among the icons they stand with. Batman is more realistic then the other classic heroes while Snake can be seen the same way compared to an elf or a goofy plumber.
Both are the "grumpy guy" characters.
So... yeah, I definetly think that Snake is the Batman equivalent of the video game world.
